how many friends/family friends/parents friends did you all invite to your wedding and is it common to invite out of town guest. the reason I ask is my friends or at least some are planning weddings and im wondering if me being out of town could be the reason im not invited

Unfortunately, I can’t give the most objective response. In our family, it’s normal to travel across the state for special events. For our wedding, it’ll be semi-destination, just to keep things central to our families, so most of our friends/family will also need to travel up to 5 hrs. We’re still inviting them, though. Granted we’re planning on a larger guest list. Maybe they’re planning a more intimate event?

We invited all immediate family and close relatives from Out of Town. Additionally we invited a few close friends from our current hometown. in total probably about 10 of 50.

I have family overseas, but I also have family friends who live in Western Australia who I will definitely be inviting. They are my godmother (my mother’s best friend), her husband and her three kids, all of whom are in their 20s, plus their partners.

@outgoingcutie15: For relatives, distance played no part in the decision, we invited everyone on the potential list (i.e. all aunts, uncles, cousins).
For friends, distance can indirectly play a part. Not, “we’re not inviting her because she’s interstate”, but “we’re not inviting her because we don’t see her so much now”. I didn’t invite once of my best friends from university mainly because I hadn’t seen her in 2-3 years and so the friendship wasn’t what it had been.

I only had about 3 or 4 invited guests from in-town; out of a 50 people guest list. of those 50, about 4 or 5 were family
