Is your fiance not ok with you starting planning now? My fiancé and I stumbled on a venue we couldn’t pass up 5 months before we got engaged and since we already had a venue, we started doing all the rest of the planning too. Even though you have time before you get engaged, you can at least start looking at venues and photographers online. May help with some of your antsiness haha

I did but wasn’t sure! Then sudden covid related stuff made him panic and he did it earlier 😅 BUT he did tell me what his plan A was and I was right even though I was trying so hard not to theorise 😂

I love reading these stories!
I just got engaged yesterday!!! Wooohoo!
I had no idea it was coming! We picked out my ring about 3-4 weeks ago, so I figured it would be awhile before he actually got the ring and decided to pop the question. But he was excited and couldn’t wait! He took me out to lunch at the same restaurant where we had our first date a little over 8 years ago! This wasn’t out of the ordinary since we always try to have a date day on the weekends. It was beautiful out so we sat outside, ate a great meal, paid the bill, and then he starting asking me if I was ready for the next chapter in our lives, told me all the sweet things he loves about us and that he’s excited, and then got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! I was shocked, straight up ugly crying, and I was holding onto him so tight, I didn’t even see the ring until he peeled me off of him! It was beyond perfect in every way! He then told me he was going to do it Saturday since we were looking at houses and planning our future, but I didn’t want to go to lunch since it was late and too close to dinner. So he was walking around with the ring in his pocket all day Saturday and I had no clue!
And I’m obsessed with my ring. I can’t stop staring at it and taking photos/videos of it. Usually my phone is full of dog and cat photos, but now it’s ring photos.
Eventually, I will stop staring at it so much, right?

we’ve been what I call “low key” planning.. making a pintrest board, coming up with colors, looking at venues without taking actual tours… I wanted to leave some excitement, and definitely wanted to wait to put any money down until I had an actual ring. I have zero reason to believe we won’t get married, but… you know… stranger things have happened. Plus, I got married my first go around in basically an elopement, and my family was super disappointed we didn’t get to do all the fun wedding-planning stuff together. So I’m leaving the venue tours and food tastings and dress fittings for that 🙂
Plus, I’ve gained about 10 pounds during this pandemic and I really want to be a bit fitter before I get my dress fitted hahaha
