I chose the color, they chose the style!
I chose the color, they chose the style!
I let my girls pick their own. They did have to stick with the color & a long chiffon style. They still had about 10 to choose from (the Mori Lee line is affordable but still has many options). We’re still waiting for them to come in but all the girls seem happy with their selections! I loved the idea of having everyone in a different look & feeling comfortable in a style that suited their body.
I originally was going to let them choose a navy dress. But after seeing my friends bms that did that it turned out to be a disaster. So instead they all voted between two brands. (Mori lee and allure) then once that was decided I chose chiffon (satin does noy fit everyone.. And I have bms of all sizes). And the color I chose navy and anything shorter than floor length. They had a ton to choose from (we went Mori lee) and everyone is happy. They actually all picked a different dress and I love that they look like individuals with their own specific tastes rather than looking like I dressed them. They are also picking their own shoes in any color and any hairstyle. That’s not to say that all the same looks bad I just like originality and individualism and more importantly I want them to be comfortable.
I did an infinity dress all in the same color, and they could choose whichever style they wanted!
I realty do think ou should stick with the same designer so the navy color is the same( navy can come is so many different shades).
we got the dresses from weddington way. If you order bm dresses from there they hold the orders until every Bridesmaid or Best Man orders their dress so the dresses come from the same dye batch.
We’re letting our bridesmaids and groomswomen choose their own dresses in fall colors. So far we have women wearing copper, brown, purple, red and green, all of them long dresses.
I’m only having one female bridesmaid (man of honor instead of maid, and then my sister as a bridesmaid) and I’m letting her pick the dress. She’s all ‘put me in whatever you want, I don’t care’ and while I could (I’m paying for her dress), I really don’t want to. I want to get her something there’s a possibility of her wearing again.
I chose the color and length, they each chose the style that fit their personality and pocketbook the best. It turned out beautifully!
I let mine all pick their own. My only stipulation was that they had to be the same designer (so the color matched), the same fabric and the same length (long). We went to two stores and tried on dresses by Dessy and Bill Levkoff. My girls ended up choosing 4 different, but cohesive, long dresses by Bill Levkoff in Chiffon. We ordered them in chocolate brown. It worked out well because we were able to all decide and agree on dresses in one day, and all my bridesmaids really like their dresses.
I’m personally not a fan of super matchy bridesmaids. Everyone has a different body type and looks good in different dress shapes. I didn’t want my wedding photos to become a game of “who wore it better.” Also, when every girl has the exact same dress, exact same shoes, same hairstyle, jewlery, etc I think it looks like a Barbie army ready to invade! haha
I told them colour, length, fabric, and designer. I want them in different necklines, and sent them about 5 dresses that I had looked at and liked, telling them they could pick from those or look on the designer’s website for other dresses that were similar. No word yet on what the verdict is!
Yes. I picked color, material and length. They also all wore the same color. All 6 of us went shopping together and we kept exchanging them between the dressing rooms. They narrowed it down to 2 dresses and I made the final decision.
I told them I wanted them to both wear floor length dresses, and that I thought it would be nice if they were the same color, but that I would live if they weren’t. They did end up coordinating. Both picked chiffon Allure gowns in the grape color, though the silhouettes and necklines are different.
Yes and no. I ultimately picked out the dress but 3 of the 4 went shopping with me and I took their input into consideration.
