Yep. We lived together for 2 years, and had been dating for 4 years, before we got engaged.

Ladies you ROCK I am so thankful for your responses you enabled me to finish my project. I am aware that this data is not enough to prove a correlation between cohabitation and dating periods it is just to examine if there is a difference in the means. I appreciate your answers so much this website is full of supportive women and I couldn’t be more thankful. I hope to graduate from the waiting boards someday soon. ๐ thank you girls!
We did.
Started dating in March, moved in together in Sept, got engaged in Dec.
I’d love to see you share the results of your study when you’re finished! Good luck!
Started dating July 2001
Started spending the night at his house- March 2007-ish
Got engaged Dec 2007
Moved in together Sept 2008
Married November 2009
Lived together for slightly more than 2 years when we got engaged! Hope your stats project goes well! (I HATED stats).
Started dating in September of 2005.
Bought a house and moved in together in May of 2008
Engaged in December of 2009
Will be married in May 2011
I think if we hadn’t moved in together he would have asked sooner!
Hi! Are you doing a poll on whether or not it was successful? My ex hubby and I decided to wait to live together until we were married (we paid for our apartment for 2 months and wouldn’t live in it together) and got divorced within 5 years.
My bf and I have been together for 7 years, lived together for 6 and may get married in 2012 or so. Hope that helps.
We dated for a year and 3 months, will be engaged for almost a year, and we are not living together until after the wedding!
Nope. The stats for people who cohabitate before getting engage or married are poor.
Not sure if you still need the info since you said you completed your project, but I’ll join:
No, we didn’t live together while we were dating. We dated for 3.5 years before we got engaged ๐
So ladies from the data that I collected there was no significant difference in the means of the couples who lived together vs the couples that didn’t in fact the p-value for the t-test I ran was 0.5 which is highly significant although one might want to consider the source being that wedding bee has a high number of women who have been waiting for at least a year. I found it interesting that most couples answered that they did in fact live together. Also there have been several studies conducted by people more qualified than myself that have shown that living together increases the waiting time significantly and from my own experience I do think it has increased ours. I really appreciate the input bees ๐
Nope, we didn’t live together first. We got engaged and then moved in together 7 months later. Then our wedding was about a year and a half later. We had a long engagement ๐
