I bought a used dress, but didn't have a specific style number in mind so it was simple. : (8 votes)

I actually bought my dress from a Bee on here!  I tried on the dress and literally TWO DAYS after I tried on the dress and decided to buy it used, I saw this woman’s dress for sale on here in a recap!  In the right size!  I definitely need to get it altered (I’m 5’2″ and the previous owner was 5’8″ or something like that), but it worked out for me.  However, it’s a David’s Bridal dress so it’s pretty common.

ETA: The dress is originally $649, I got it for $200 🙂  Me in the store:

Well I got a sample, so I guess that’s used? It fits perfectly!

I need it hemmed, but besides that I don’t need any other alterations besides the cups that I’m getting put into the bodice. I wound up getting my $3200 Paloma Blanca dress for $1198. 🙂

I got mine from ebay- it was new with tags still attached (it was in pristine shape, but had been altered–lucky for me because did not have to hem or get it bustled.) So I got all that for 118 dollars including shipping.  I was surprised how well it fit 🙂 When I bid on it, I had already tried on dresses with the same shape, so I knew I would like that.  Also, with the price that I got it for, I was pretty sure that I could sell it and at least break even if I didn’t like it.  I added an off the shoulder bolero from alex bridal and now I love it!!  Gettng a bargain deal, allows me  buy a beautiful dress, and spend money on other parts of the wedding.

I bought a preowned Watters lace ballgown for $550 from recycled bride. I didn’t really have a specific style in mind, I just searched for ivory, size 6 and after browsing several pages of dresses I found my dress!

I have the same dress as AsscherLover and also got it used. I loved it in a salon and then got it through preownedweddingdresses.com (but the seller had it listed in multiple spots). I tried to sell a couple of dresses online, so I know there are flakes and scammers out there, but I had a really great experience buying my dress. Mine came with a sweet note from the woman who sold it to me, and a request that I send a picture once I actually got married in it.

Of course, it all about who you end up buying from.

I tried.  But I had a heck of a time getting people to respond to emails!

I bought my dress off of ebay. It is Calista by Maggie Sottero. It retails for about $1500 and I got it for $500.
