Compared to how I looked on a normal camera then vs wedding photos, I’d say I look the same. I was a good size, and I looked beautiful and happy. Same with the engagement photos. I wasn’t even at my thinnest weight for the e-pics, but I immediately look at our happy faces before I ever notice that my arms might look a little big, or there is a bit of pudge around my middle, etc.

This was a fear of mine (I was previously a heavy person) but I loved my wedding pics and thought I looked good in them size wise. Mind you I was at my thinnest – but I didn’t feel the camera added 10 pounds or anything.

I think my photos represented my weight pretty well.  There were some photo angles that were more flattering than others. A few pics made me wish I had tried harder to lose weight.

I was wearing a corset so my waist looks so slim! My arms etc look the same 🙂 Can’t say I’ve ever thought I looked bigger than usual in a photo, what an odd effect to happen to your friend!!

I looked thinner. Wedding dresses are so damn flattering.

My photographer was a highly experienced professional who knew how to get good shots with good lighting, so I looked thinner.

This is my fear, no matter how much I will weigh by then! I’d like to lose 10 and tone up some… so here’s hoping!

I certainly think in some ways I looked thinner in the pro photos. Some of the iPhone snapshots of me in my dress at the shop made me feel huge in my dress and I worried a little even though in person I loved my dress. Thankfully, a professional photographer was able to capture how I felt IRL  wearing my dress into the pictures. I was very happy with them.

Sometimes small brides look bigger because all that fabric is too much on a small frame. I look bigger in mine, but thats because i’m pretty sure i’ve lost weight since the wedding.

SprinkleDonut:   For all the months of dieting and losing 21 lbs before my wedding, I looked like a fat elephant in my photos.

I just looked like me, not much difference at all.

i do think some of it has to do with the dress. In a ballgown or a-line, there are many more angles that are flattering to the average woman than in a mermaid or sheath style. Obviously, if you are tall, thin, and have no bulges, you will look great no matter what. most if us, however, have flaws. Your friend has a great dress, but since she doesn’t have a washboard flat stomach, it got caught. In a ball gown, no one would ever have noticed. So really, i think its that some dresses are much more forgiving than others.  Ditto what

Swizzle: said too; lots of fabric can do odd things on petite frames.

All the same, she looks beautiful and you can tell she was happy even without seeing her face! At the end of the day, that’s what matters 😉

I am an average sized person, meaning size 10/12, and there were some pics were I thought ‘wow, I look teeny!’, and then others where I thought I looked bigger.  It was really all about the angles.

Overall, I thought I looked like me in real life, only with a smile you could not wipe off my face, and feeling completely awesome/pampered!!

SprinkleDonut:  I look generally the same, there were some pictures where the lighting made me look teeny, and a few angles that were just unflattering in my dress (and in general).

I didn’t stress about losing weight for the wedding, I look like me.
