Bees, kind of a personal question, but I’m wondering if you ended up losing weight or gaining weight for your big day! Were you planning on it? Was it because of stress, or need to fit into the dress?

I lost about 5 lbs the few weeks leading up to the wedding, but I had stopped trying by that point so I think it was just the stress. I did, however, work out a lot to be in good shape for photos (man I gotta get back to that) 🙂

I lost about 20lbs. It was planned, but not for the wedding. I just wanted to lose weight. I’m still working on it and have continued to lose.

I stayed exactly the same.. even though the month before the wedding I was at my parents house where all the food was healthy and I was exercising every day! lol But I was happy I stayed the same b/c I don’t really need to lose weight.

I lost just under 60 pounds for my wedding (was a whale before I started dieting!). I gained a few pounds during my week before and after the wedding but have got rid of that excess now and I’m going to lose more weight for our Dec honeymoon.
I was hoping I’d have a stressful couple of weeks leading up to the wedding and lose a few bonus pounds, but I was so stress free leading up to the day that nothing changed 🙂
A few people ask me my secret for losing weight. I tell them ‘getting engaged!’ – nothing motivates you like a white wedding dress does! lol!
I’m really glad I lost weight leading up to the day. It makes me happier looking at the pics (I *needed* to lose weight though, not everyone does 🙂

I lost about ten pounds due to stress and anxiety, but I didn’t mind one bit! It’s nice at 5’8 to have been only 123 lbs! I’ve gained about 7 since then.
However, my seamstress didn’t seem to like that I was losing weight..

I think I ended up losting around 3-5 lbs, but it really wasn’t on purpose. I joined the gym my best friend was working at about a month after they opened, which was also 4 months before my wedding, so while I wasn’t meaning to, I was building a fair amount of muscle and lost a little weight, but I really wasn’t trying all that hard outside my normal routine to be honest.
I wanted to, but I just never had the time to stick to my stricter routine. So any weight loss was mostly accidental.

I have lost about 20 pounds since spring and am hoping to lose 10 more and get more toned in my upper body. Initially the weight loss was for me (I had gained about 10 lbs since meeting my Fiance and was near high school weight). I’m now at the weight I was a year before I met him and want to look more lean and toned for the wedding.

I’m worried about having to shell out more money to alter my dress if I lose weight, as it fits like a glove now … but I want to lose weight!!!!

wanted to lose about 10 to avoid alterations below the waist, it worked and I have not gained it back yet

I lost my appetite before the wedding, so I lost a bit of weight. Then I gained it all back plus a bit more during the honeymoon/newlywed phase. Good times, lots of homemade pie and seafood in creamy sauces… Mmmmm…
Now I’m trying to lose a bit and generally get into better shape.

When I first started planning the wedding I was working out and lost about 10 pounds. Then my work increased my hours during the last 3 months of planning and I was so stressed out, I pretty much gained it all back. Then I really gained some on the honeymoon with delicious food and tropical drinks. Now I’m right back where I started!

I had gained a little bit of weight in the year before the wedding, due to no longer running and eating too many sweets and drinking too much wine. So I just wanted to get back to my normal size. Also, my dress went in at the waist, and I don’t have much of a natural waist so I have to lose all of 1 inch at my waist so the fabric wouldn’t stretch and gap.

I wasn’t losing for the “big day” specifically, but just eating better and working out consistently for health reasons. I lost about 14 pounds between when DH proposed and our wedding day.

I gained weight. I’m an emotional eater and the stress made me HONGRY. I had to have my dress taken out a bit. 🙁
