@marinewife4:  I think you look great!

I planned on dropping a few pounds but somehow no matter how often I hit the gym, I couldnt lol

I stopped birth control one month before the wedding and literally in the last 10 days before the wedding I lost 6 pounds…. it was so weird. I was stressed, but I also think it might be getting off birth control. I guess the water went out of my body. Its impossible I lost fat without working out at all.

I have lost 18 lbs recently because I wanted to buy my dress at a weight I am comfortable in, which is 140. I’m only 5 feet. But my plans in the new year is to lose another 15 for my first dress fitting in May. Hope I can pull it off. I would have almost 5 months. I want to look my best on that day and think I would feel more confident pulling off a white dress with a bit of skin showing.

Nope, I did not try to lose any weight for the wedding.  I personally don’t understand it, unless the change was for a permanent lifestyle change and permanent weight loss.  To me, I wouldn’t want what will probably be one of the most displayed pictures around my house to be me at my “best” knowing that I had the drive at some point to look like that for a single day, and then just let myself go again if I didn’t keep it up.  I rather just look like my usual self.

I think you look great! I don’t think you should try to tone down your muscle! I think you should keep doing what you’re doing. Also, don’t worry about the size. If you look great in a dress just go with it and don’t pay attention to what size they put you in.

I did lose about 30 pounds after getting engaged but it wasn’t necessarily because I was getting married- I just wasn’t happy with the way I looked. I made a few life style changes so I’ve kept the weight off as well.

my fiance’s SIL lost quite a bit of weight on Bernstein for her wedding, looked fabulous but gained most of it back and more. She told me when she heard I was “dieting” that it was worth it to her because when she looks back on her wedding pics she was very happy and confident in her skin.

I workout but I’m not toned and have alot of trouble spots, especially my arms as I use to weigh almost 180. So I personally feel I want to lose more before my wedding because I’m not comfortable in my skin at the moment, which made dress shopping awful.

Whatever you do, do it for yourself because your Fiance loves you the same, no matter what.

I think you look great like you are, you look petite!

The wedding/honeymoon was one of the catalyst for me to lose weight, but it was more of a health issue. I was chubby, not obese and was comfortable in my body for the most part. I just didn’t feel “good” physically… really ever. I had migraines, bloating, fatigue, etc. I got really sick of not taking care of myself, and decided there was no better time for me to make a lifestyle change. I’ve been wanting to for a couple of years now, but my wedding/honeymoon honestly gave me the kick in the butt that I needed. In the past 2.5 months, I’ve lost 20lbs. Hoping to lose 20 more by my wedding in February. Seeing the transformations physically/mentally/emotionally, I will *never* go back to where I was. My Fiance did not want me to lose weight either, bu. He supported me and took up a healthier lifestyle as a result. We both feel so much better!

I was around 126 and three months before the wedding I would work out 20-30 min a day everyday. I went down to 118, then my dress was too big lol I stayed that weight without working out for another two months, but then we went to tx for work for six weeks and we ate out all the time! I gained all the weight back! Now I’m pregnant so it doesn’t matter, but I will say being a few pounds lighter made me really happy with my wedding photos. My arms had toned up and my hips smoothed out so it looked good in my dress! Typically I’m around 120 so it wasn’t strange to see me looking that size in my wedding photos! It sounds like you already work out and look like you’re in good shape so just keep at it! You don’t look like you have 20 pounds to lose!

I think you look great. If you do decide to lose the weight, do it for you and your overall life/self, not just for the wedding/the dress.

I didn’t lose a ton of weight or anything, just toned up a bit. Maybe lost a total of 5-10lbs. I’m curvy, but generally happy with my body.
