My first was born at 40 weeks exactly, but labor started at 39 weeks, 5 days… so took her a while to get out. My second stayed in until 41 weeks, guess he was nice and cozy in there? I think I read that the avg first time mom gives birth closer to 41 weeks. Labor isn’t so bad, it’s so much shorter than pregnancy and you get a baby at the end. You’ll do great Mama!

My baby was born the day before 38 weeks.

I had a bloody show the previous morning when I woke up and mild contractions started that night. He was born the following night at 10:22pm.

I went into labor a few minutes after midnight at 40 weeks exactly (with contractions starting at only 3.5 minutes apart somehow …) and then finally ‘gave birth’ my son at 12:29am the next morning via emergency c-section.

ETA: and I never had any signs of labor before that, never had any baxton hicks contractions and my water had to be broken at the hospital after 20 hours of labor because apparently i’m not very good at giving birth. πŸ˜‚

With my first– 36 weeks! Water broke at 4 am totally unexpected, contractions came along thanks to pitocin and baby was born right before noon. Only issues were some slight jaundice and initial very, very sleepy babe that made nursing kid of tough at first.

With my 2nd, born at 38 weeks on the dot! Went in to be induced due to COVID and I was already 3cm and in a lot of discomfort. Went in around 6am, got hooked up and checked in and water manually broken around 8/8:30, had an epidural not long after that, and baby was born again around noon. Was glad that we decided on an induction because baby was 9lbs and it was right when shutdowns started in March and it was a complete shitshow at the hospital

My water broke at 38 weeks to the day, but I blame the dog. We had a massive mastiff mix at the time and my Mother-In-Law came over that morning. I had to wrestle the dog back into the house before she barreled out the door. My water broke approximately a minute after the dust settled. I’m really curious to see how long this baby hangs in there without big dog anymore.

1st – 36+4 = induced

2nd – 40+6 = induced she didn’t want to come out and probably would have stayed another 9 months if she was allowed.

My water broke at 39+2. That morning I’d woken up tired and miserable, thinking I’d go past my due date and they’d have to induce me. πŸ˜‰

And I know it’s hard (I was a worrier, too) but try not to stress too much over childbirth. You will find the strength!

I’m pregnant with my first and am 39+4 today. Lost my mucus plug at 39+1, but still nothing. No contractions. No back pain. Getting a membrane sweep Thursday, but I’m thinking I’ll go past 40. My mom has to be induced with all 3 of her children and went late every pregnancy. Not a good sign for me.

I was 40 weeks and 4 or 5 days i think. They wanted to induce me much earlier but I was trying really hard to avoid it if I could. I finally agreed to induction once we hit 40 weeks and there was no signs of labour all. i was in the hospital from Sunday to Thursday evening.

Labor started around 41 weeks with my first. I had mild contractions and I lost my mucus plug. I eventually went to the hospital once the contractions were pretty painful. I was given pitocin, but never progressed past 6cm, so baby boy was born via C section at 41+3. Currently pregnant with #2 who is due at the end of November, but I’m just preparing myself for a December baby.
