All you would have to do is a simple hem, it would be easy 🙂 I’ve also heard of using wall paper as a table runner, that looked really nice 😀

I always feel the need to interject that sergers can take a lot of the work out of making items like this, while adding a very cute edge to the fabric. If you have several wedding colors, you can always have the cloth be one color and the thread another. I’m doing this for napkins, and they’re turning out looking fantastic!

This is a serger!

It binds the edge of fabric so it doesn’t fray, kind of like this:

It also allows for fabric to stretch more. If you go and find a bathing suit or tee-shirt, you’ll see that all the seams are serged, rather than just sewn with a straight stitch. A lot of my sewing friends (me included!) use this as a decorative stitch as well. It’s great to use to finish the bottom of a skirt or to replace a hem.
