I’ve been thinking a lot about what brings people to marriage. mostly i guess because i never thought i wanted to get married and deal with all the fuss. neither i nor my fiance believe in the concept of The One, but we do believe in each other and in our ability to try our very best to make the other happy and to improve each other’s lives. My test (if there really is a test for this kind of thing) is that my life is better with him than without him and vice versa.

In all honesty, I’ve loved other people as much as I love my husband- but I was not as compatible with those men. Hypothetically, if my marriage ever ended *knocks on wood*  I know I could move on (not that I would want to).  I don’t believe there is one person for anyone, but I really like my husband and don’t want to trade him in!

I believe there are other men out there somewhere that could hypothetically make me as happy & complete as my fiance makes me, but their existence is currently (and hopefully always) irrelevant, since I’ve found this "the one" first.

I don’t know if we’ll ever really know if they are "the one" but it feels right and I could not ask for more.

I believe he is the one, he is my first boyfriend, and I can’t even imagine being with anyone else or wanting to be.

Mr. MagPie and I are best friends, and we often joke no one else could put up with the other, so we’re really perfect for each other.  Yes, I believe he is "the one" and I can’t wait for August to make it official!

I think "the one" is hard for me – especially since it wasnt love at first sight. I hated and when I mean hated – I couldnt bear being in the same room with MR.Flamingo….. go figure.

So I got to know him and feel in love…. I love him with all my heart…. and envision us growing old together… but who knows… maybe there is someone better out there…

I am going to be marrying a man who drives me up the wall sometimes, but i know that on any given day, i’d rather be going crazy with him, then to be stuck being loved by anybody else. The best thing about it… is that we laugh together. we giggle uncontrollably at times… and its just fun. its a friendship. it’s love. it’s family. and its.. just us!

PS we didnt’ start off this way though… so go figure…

There is one ex that I think I could have married, but I was young and dumb and ended things too soon. My Fiance and I really are best friends and I can picture us growing old together. The timing was right with him and I know we are going to be so happy together. The ex crossed my mind occassionally when Fiance and I first got engaged, but I know, without a doubt that we are doing the right thing and are going to be so happy for the rest of our lives.

I am very happy with my husband and love him more than I can express.  However, I’m not sure that I believe that there is only ONE person out there for me (or for him).

If something were to happen to me and I was his ONE- then he would be alone?

I’d rather believe that there’s more than one person out there for each of us- just in case.

I have never loved anyone so much, and never had such a solid friendship with a SO. I think that makes all the difference in the world for us–our friendship and deep connection that has bloomed into love and partnership over the years. I cannot imagine being married to anyone else. He is the ONE!

I "loved" before, but I honestly believe that it was too early in my own life’s journey for it to be "true love."  Boy and I always joke about how we met through a series of strange circumstances and all of the ways our lives intersected before we met.  It almost feels like we were fated in some way- even though I don’t usually believe in that kind of stuff.  All I know is that he makes me happy and I can be myself around him.  That’s the kind of love I want!
