I met my soon to be fiance (I can say that because I know he is in possession of a ring!) on an online dating site. Honestly, I never ever would have predicted that would have been how I would meet my significant other! Luckily, my friends and family have all been very supportive and accepting about it. In a way, it is weird to think about sometimes now- we talked for a few months online, but we have been dating close to two years, so it is easy to forget that is how we met! Anyways, have any of you met your significant other online? Do you ever have a difficult time telling other people that is how you met? Did you expect online dating to lead to something serious?

Yes, but through a friend’s Facebook status. It was never difficult to share how we met. I usually just said through a mutual friend anyways. I used to live a little over an hour away from my friend so it was a LDR for me and Fiance at first. I didn’t expect anything out of it for awhile. I thought he’d get tired of having to drive every weekend to see me. Ends up not being the case. We’ve been engaged since Christmas Eve 2010 and can’t wait to start our new life together as a married couple.

Yep, eHarmony! For two busy career-focused people, I don’t know how we would have ever met each other, otherwise!

eHarmony here too, but nope never had an issue telling anyone. I feel like if I tell someone and they still have hangups about it, that’s on them, not me. Funny thing is my husband and I grew up 45 minutes from eachother but met eachother 700 miles away in our new cities. What are the chances?

Yup, we met online too, right before I was about to delete my account. All I was meeting was a bunch of crazies and then there he was. He says he knew instantly after our first conversation, that we’d end up together. Most people know how we met, but I don’t go around advertising it. I really wasn’t expecting to find anyone worth my time online, but I’m glad I did.
