We’re getting married on a Saturday, I’m planning on taking off the days off from the Wednesday before. I need to take more time off as I’m doing my own flower arrangements and baking favours and some sweet treats for a dessert table after… Didn’t quite think this through when I started planning!

I have it schedule so I’ll pretty much be off for two weeks. We’re driving to fiance’s family’s state on a Saturday (15 Hr drive). We’ll stay until the following weekend on Sunday (wedding day). Leave after the reception and drive home (15 hrs so most of that Monday driving). Fiance will go back to work on the tuesday and I’ll have the rest of the week to lounge at home and enjoy my solo homemoon.

Then pretty much two months after that…we leave for Vietnam for two weeks to get “married” again with family there. 🙂

My wedding was this past Saturday. I took off the Thursday and Friday before and it felt like the perfect amount of time. I was able to spread out beauty appts, rehearsal, etc. enough that it wasn’t overwhelming and I still had some time to relax.

tiffany7:  I was married on a Saturday and took the 3 days previous off (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday). I didn’t do a whole lot of prep stuff as most of it was done and I didn’t do much DIY. I did pay or arrange payment of vendors, spend time with visiting guests (family and bridal party), confirm timelines, got a mani pedi with my mom, and relax.

  • Wedding: October 2016 - Waldorf Astoria, Orlando

My wedding is scheduled for a Saturday. I will be using the week leading up to the wedding day to spend time with family in our wedding town (Orlando).. so FH and I will be headed down the Saturday prior. We are both taking four weeks off of work (He owns his business, I co-own my business) so we have planned this nearly a year in advance. I am doing this so I have time to welcome our guests (everyone is from out of town), spend time doing our “Bachelorette/Bachelor” partying with our families, meet with my planner, help set up and have a spa day. The day after the wedding we basically start our honeymoon. Work was the last thing he or I wanted to think about during our wedding time so we planned this. I think if you can afford it and your job allows it, take at least the day before your wedding off. Just to collect yourself and have a day to unwind.

I am taking the full week off before my wedding. I’m getting married on a Sunday and work Monday to Thursday. However I know I’m going to be completely worthless at work and I had two weeks of vacation time so one for that and one for the honeymoon.

tiffany7:  Our wedding was on a Friday, and I did have the day before off… as well as that week and the Monday following the weekend.

It worked for me, as I had the time available to take off still remaining for the year – we got married in October. It was nice to be able to sleep in most days, get appointments out of the way and schedule whenever (lash extensions, nails, hair color touchup, etc). I met friends for lunch and was happy to have the extra time to finish things that need to be done in that last week before.

ninacorrine:  We are getting married in Las Vegas and then going to a resort near Cancun for a week.  I can’t wait!

cantwaittobeemarried:  Ha, ha, that is pretty neat.  I am lazy with user names. I used to use caseyd5 for everything. when all of those were taken I started using my birthday. I guess in 6 months I will have to start using caseys528.

tiffany7:  I suggest you also take the Thursday off and pamper yourself!

I’m a teacher and decided to get married in the summer so I won’t need to worry about work, but yes, if I had work the day before, I would definitely take the day off before your wedding.  You should feel happy, rested, and pampered!

I’m getting married on a Sunday. I will be off from the Tuesday before until the Tuesday after. The day before I am having a spa day with my girls, we are having dinner, and then my Maid/Matron of Honor and I are staying in a nice hotel for my last night as a single woman! I have anxiety frequently so the day of relaxation before the wedding is really important to me.

I took off the entire day before the wedding. I could have easily worked until 2, before heading to the rehearsal at 5. I had assumed people would be coming into town, which they did, but not until the afternoon.
