@WaltzDreams:  Haha this is so cute! ๐Ÿ™‚  The only one I had was to my best friend.  We were headed to an engagement party DH had planned for us, and when we got there, I pulled her aside because i wanted her to know before everyone else.  We had an entire conversation without having a conversation, really.

Me: “Come here come here!”

Her: “What what what”

Me: *shows her my hand*

And then laughter and tears ensued. ๐Ÿ™‚

@WaltzDreams:  I actually had a lot of fun telling my mother. She wasn’t expecting any engagement and she was always worried about me or my sister becoming pregnant too soon…

Me: Mom, sit down – there is something you should probably know.

Mom: (silence with deer in the headlights face)

Me: You know that me and him have been spending a lot of time together lately. We just confirmed last night that there will be a new addition to the family. I’m going to show you what I got yesterday, I know it isn’t very big but it’ll be bigger in a couple of years. (referring to the ring of course)

Mom: Holy crap, are you pregnant? I warned you about this….

Me: (whipping out my hand with a ring on it) No, I’m engaged!

Mom: At least you’ll be married for when you have the baby.

Then began the long conversation trying to tell her that I was just joking and there was no pregnancy. She was the one who told my father and used the same joke.

@WaltzDreams:  When we told FH’s mom we didn’t know how to start the conversation, so I suggested that we go over to her house. We sat her down and FH said, “Mom, lovelyhulagirl33 has a very serious question to ask you”. She looked surprised, so I looked at her with a serious expression and said “Will you be my mother-in-law?” Hahaha her reaction was priceless ๐Ÿ˜€

I remember when I went to work the Monday after getting engaged, I was SO excited to tell me co-workers but didn’t know how to say it.

So I was standing at my desk organizing my stuff for the day and my one manager came in to use my fax machine and he said casually, “how was your weekend?” like every other Monday.

I couldn’t form words, so I just stuck my hand/ring in his face.

He grabbed me and hugged me and congratulated me so loudly that everyone in the office came running over to my desk lol

I felt akward telling anybody at work since my much loved manager had passed away the week before. So a couple of days passed and one coworker who I adore sees my hand and asked really loudly what was that on my hand?! So I told her, it’s an engagement ring, what does it look like? So those standing around berate me for not telling them. I asked them what they wanted me to do, come running in Monday morning screaming that I was engaged, shaking my hand in their faces? To which they all said YES! Not really something funny I did, but the reaction was priceless.

No, I didn’t get to!  We were staying at my parents that night. My parents had gone to bed, but my younger sister was awake.  She has issues sleeping, so has prescription sleeping pills.  I had no idea she had taken one before I told her. She came downstairs and had a conversation with me about it for two hours.  Apparently she remembers almost nothing of this conversation, lol.

In the morning she confronted my parents about our engagement saying that they (my parents) were hiding a secret from her!  They are all, “What are you on about girl?” and she’s like, “You know, that M & L are engaged!”  My parents are like WTFBBQ.

so I came up to tell them and they are like OMG let me see the ring! Lol. >_>

My best friend has emailed me to say she was engaged and then texted to say that she was pregnant.  I always told her that I would text her and not call her when I got engaged. So the night that DH asked, I texted her something along the lines of “So, he asked and I said Yes”.  It took her a few minutes and then she started blowing up my phone asking about the ring, demanding pictures, etc. It was awesome ๐Ÿ™‚

We didn’t really announce it. Some people noticed my ring and then asked if I was engaged (duh).

I posted a picture of us kissing and wrote in the caption “Bet you half your shit I’ll love you forever <3”

hahahahahaha it was moderately tacky to strangers, sure, but hilarious to everyone who knows us and our sense of humor!

Haha I had fun with this.

I called my sister

Me: Hey sister I need a favour from you

sister: yea sure, what do you need?

Me: well I need you to be my maid of honour

sister: wait what??

I texted her “I know that you really like boyfriend, but I need to let you know, he isn’t my boyfriend anymore”

her: “wtf?? Are you okay?”

me: “yep! He is now my Fiance!”

And my favourite, we were meeting my parents for dinner, when I saw them (my mom is a doctor)

Me: Mom I really need you to look at my hand, DH hit it with a rock

Mom: Oh Boyfriend, why did you do that? *grabs my hand* ooooooh *high pitched squeel*
