Did you send a thank you card with a picture or just a note?

I’ve never received a thank you card with a picture in it and don’t expect one. I doubt we’ll have a picture with ours.

We made photo cards so our guests got like 5 pictures with our Thank You. As a guest, I’ve never received a photo card or pictures in the Thank You so it’s really not necessary but I do think it’s a nice touch if you can do it.

You don’t need a picture, but since it’s been so long, it might make people say, “oh this took so long because she was waiting on pictures” if you include them. You can easily have some wallets printed at Walgreens or similar within a few hours. I don’t think it’s necessary though.

I’ve never expected a picture, it’s definitely not necessary. (And being totally honest, when the cards do contain a picture I usually roll my eyes.)

@mrsSonthebeach:  I agree, if its taken this long, I’d definitely add a picture for that reason.

We used plain thank you note cards and added pictures of the guest we were sending the card hat the photog snapped and their group table picture.

@bythebook:  Seriously? Why? I have all the photos I’ve been sent as part of photo collages at home. I treasure them. The notes, however, have been long since thrown out during moments of I-have-too-much-stuff clean-a-thons.

We didn’t do a photo of us, but we went to the beach, wrote ‘Thank You’ in the sand, put our left hand prints next to it and then put our rings in our sand handprints, and took a picture. We took this picture and made it into a postcard, and then used those to write our thank you notes. It was unique, which is what we wanted, but really simple too, which is also what we wanted!

What with FB and everything these days, I figure all our guests and friends/family have seen our wedding photos way before they got our thank yous!

@bythebook:  I’m legitimately curious as well. Our formats took almost two hours because people kept wanting to jump in with us in various combinations. I figure the least I can do is send them a copy?  And we had a faux-to booth so I thought people would enjoy seeing the pictures of just them alone as well.

I almost always get a picture in thank you cards and usually frame them if we’re super close with the people, and at least tuck them away in my scrapbook.

I’ve never gotten a Thank You card with a picture in it – I have gotten a photo card as a thank you card, but it was 6 months after I’d given them the gift, and honestly at that point I was so annoyed that I just tossed the card.

I don’t think a picture is necessary.  We sent ours out with just a nice personal note to each person.

@loveknows:  We did a simple note and that worked out well 🙂 Most of our friends sent thank you’s with photos, but I didn’t think it was worth the extra cost. Hope that helps!

This must be a regional thing, all the thank you cards we’ve gotten either have a photo printed on it or a photo included in it.
