We plan to bring out sheet pizza later on in the evening, once every one has had their fair share of alcohol and could use something to munch on. We just weren’t sure what time to serve the pizza.
Cocktail hour is 6:30-7:30, dinner served at 7:30ish… I assume dinner will go to 8:00/8:30..
What time do you think would be a good time to set out the pizza..

What time does your reception go until?

That sounds like a lot of time spent eating, so I would go for pizza later in the evening! No earlier than 10.30, perhaps as late as 11 if your reception is continuing into the night. It also depend a little on when you plan to serve the cake.

@X0JLYNN03: It depends on what else you’re doing. The cake cutting, garter and bouquet toss, speaches and dances take time. I would want to wait until after the cake cutting and people have had a chance to have cake, so that could easily push it to 11.

Think about when you get hungry after you eat dinner. If I eat around 8 then I usually get hungry again around 11 or 12. I think late snacks are awesome but they need to be done right.

@Bostongrl25: Ends at midnight

…late night snack? That’s what Taco Bell is for…Mr. 99 and I tumble into my roadster, he takes down his tie, I kick my shoes off, we drop the top and race through the drive through looking like a million bucks to get some Chalupas and cherry pepsi…then it’s home to eat our feast and laugh about Aunt Haddie trying to show Mr. 99 her apendectomy scar and the couple that got into the spirit of things and was locked away in the bathroom for forty minutes…

Listening to your opinions.. I’m thinking 11 is sounding like a good time. Even though people may not be hungry yet, you know when you’re drinking you’ll eat whether your hungry or not lol

Holy crap, taco bell on my wedding night would be AMAZING.

@Nona99: We decided to serve a late night snack.. so people wouldn’t have to go anywhere after.. though Taco Bell is delicous after a few drinks.

11:00 sounds good to me too!

I think 11 is too late… most places you have to be out of by midnight, unless your wedding goes later. probably depends on the venue. I think 10 or 1030 would be better!

Im serving my late night snack around 11ish. My venue closes at 1am. Cocktail hour at 5, Dinner at 7. My late snack will consist of My Wedding Cake, cheese platters, cold cuts with rye bread, pickles, crackers, fruit and veggies…. Pizza seems kind of heavy (and messy) but if thats what you want, then go for it lol I wouldnt complain about eating pizza.

@X0JLYNN03: My point is, that every event has an end, and regardless of our host generosity and consideration, my favorite part of the night, is the part where Mr. 99 and I run away together, to our little house, with our crazy dogs and our big fluffy bed….to laugh each other to sleep with a tuxedo rumpled up on the floor and being slept on the cat and a ballgown haging from the light fixture in the hallway, some hollow spectre of the angelic image it was just hours before….

I think 11 is a good time. We’re still on the fence about doing a late night snack. We are definitely doing philly pretzels and bottled water on the way out. We looooove pretzels!
