Shortly after the wedding, I decided that it would be fun to show Darling Husband the pictures of the dresses that I didn’t buy, but that were serious contenders.
Turns out that he LOVES my #2 choice. He assures me that he loved the dress I had, but he still talks about the other dress. The dress I wore was a ballgown that I loved and I felt completely comfortable in. I said it felt like the bridal version of me.
The reject dress was a much more form-fitting dress that showed off my curves. I loved it cause it fit me like a glove, but I never wear dresses like that and I didn’t think my wedding day was the day to go for a new style.
There’s something that bugs me about the fact that he loves the reject dress so much. Almost like I disappointed him. I know that’s not the case, but it kinda makes me a little sad.
Anyway, I’m keeping in the mind the shape of the reject dress for the next time we have to dress up and go anywhere. I intend to knock his socks off! 🙂

@smiles4jo: I’m sorry that you feel you disappointed him. Personally, I wouldn’t show my fiance any gowns I’d rejected any time before or after the wedding because I wouldn’t want comparisons and feel the one I wear is the only one he needs to see.
I think your idea of a dressy gown that’s a similar line for a dress occasion is good though 🙂

I showed Darling Husband pictures of all the dresses I tried on, the day I tried them on. He agreed with my choice lol

I did actually, mostly out of curiosity to see what he’d say.Fortunately for me he did like mine the best by far (his words) but yeah I guess I ran the risk of hearing him say he liked another better. I’m sorry he said that, I’m sure he really did love the one you chose though

I showed him pictures of reject dresses after I tried them on that day. He liked one of them a lot (so did I) but I don’t regret not buying it since it wasn’t really my style and was $1000 more than I wanted to spend.
Of course your Darling Husband liked a dress that showed off your curves, but that doesn’t mean he wishes you wore it as your wedding dress. He’s probably just glad he has a hot wife! Definitely buy a dress in the same style to wear in the future. He will love it.

I think I’ve shown him pictures of me in all the dresses I’ve tried on so far! (haven’t picked one yet, and don’t have a picture of me in my current first choice…) I can see how it would be disappointing for him to say a different one was amazing, but there was a reason you didn’t pick that one in the first place, whether comfort, price, or just style in general. I like your idea to find a similarly shaped dress for your next formal occasion, though! Good way to work in that look that he likes!
