When I bought my dress, my mom and aunts made me swear to secrecy not to show or tell anyone how it looks. I guess this is a tradition I wasn’t aware of or knew it was such a big deal. I am always eager to share things w/ my Fiance so I showed him a pic on the web site of the designer. 😡 I figured it will be totally different once he see’s it on me in person and will still get the “wow” factor.

I wanted to show mine to my FH since I get his opinion on everything but he wants it to be a surprise so he refuses to look at a picture…haha. He is not traditional about anything else but this!

He came with me when I tried them on, he helped me pick out which one and he paid for it… he had more to do with the dress than I did LOL… he also came back with me to take pictures of me in it with my veil. =D
We do everything together, it would have been strange without him there for such an important part of the wedding planning.

@HappilyEverAfter54: Thats how I feel! As soon as my aunt put down the deposit I coudlnt wait to share my excitement with my FI! I doubt he’ll remember what it looks like from now till the wedding but it was just the moment.

@ReyDar64: hehe it’s awesome that you wanted him to share in the excitement! We planned how upscale the wedding would be based on the dress so he needed to see it… I don’t think anythings wrong with the groom seeing the dress early 😉

I don’t really mind but my Fiance goes nuts if I even mention anything about dresses in general. He really wants it to be a surprise lol!

Fiance helped pick my dress while we were looking at dress pictures- he won’t see it on til the big day though!

My wife and I bought our dresses together, so they would coordinate.

I showed my Fiance a few pics the other night and I couldn’t be happier that I finally did! I’ve been having such a hard time deciding (I haven’t bought it yet) and to know that he likes it (and thinks it’s “hot” haha) really gave me the reassurance that I needed.

I have showed him, but he doesn’t know he has seen it. I showed him a ton of pictures with my dress included in the mix. Luckily, he seems to like my dress the best!

I showed my fiance pictures of a couple of gowns that I liked a few weeks ago just out of curiosity. He’s pretty laid back and I’m sure he’d like anything that I decide on. My top contender so far was one of the ones that he had the strongest reaction to, so I’m pretty excited about that 🙂

I showed my finance a pic of me in the sample dress. We are pretty low key about this so I wanted to make sure he knew what the dress looked like.

I want to show Fiance, but he won’t have it. I’m just worried he’ll end up hating it (Maggie Sottero ‘Isadora’) on the big day, though, because he seems to hate dresses with flower embellishments. :S I’d rather show him now with time to get a new dress than see his disappointment the day of.

@ReyDar64: My Fiance and I both agreed that he isn’t going to see me in my dress until that moment when I walk down the aisle. That means no first look either. I can’t wait to see the look on his face!
@2dBride: That must have been a special moment you two shared. 🙂

Another option? I showed him the pic of the dress on the model, but not the one I had made or pictures of me in it.
