My dress is going to be a little non-traditional (whereas my man is pretty traditional) so one day I showed him a pick online of the one I would love to get – just to test the waters 🙂

My Fiance is very traditional. He doesn’t want to know any details about it until I walk down the aisle.

It will be stored at the bridal store and then my parents house. I’m haveing to make sure I cover all my tracks or he will be disappointed.

I really want him to be surprised when he sees me walk down the aisle…

He saw a picture of it on a mannequin but not on me. I’m not the traditional type so him seeing it was no big deal to me. He completely forgot what it looked like anyway.

I haven’t shown my fiance the dress. I’ve been able to keep it a secret for over a year. Just 6 days to go.

No, he doesn’t get to see it until I’m walking down the aisle! In the meantime, I’m keeping it at my parents’ house.

Yes and no haha. I went and tried on dresses alone once and I showed him a picture of me in it and he was like eh. A few months later when my mom came out to try dresses on I had to try on that one again and I ended up buying it! I was hesitant to try it on in front of her because I wasn’t sure she’d like it but deep down I knew it was the one. From that day forward I never told him what dresses I tried on or what I bought because I wanted it to be a surprise.

On our wedding day, he was TOTALLY shocked! He thought I’d wear something satin and mermaid style, he never expected me to wear ruffles. A week or so after the wedding I asked him if he recognized the dress and he said no. I then showed him the very first picture of when I tried it on and he’s like, “Would you look at that?! It is the same dress! Guess that goes to show how good my memory is!”

    Kind of a cute story!

I’m having a custom made dress in red. So he has seen photos of the dress in ivory and the red fabric sample. But I won’t show him my actual dress, in photo or person until the big day!

…well, I’ll try not to show him but I’m horrible at keeping suprises from him.

Yes and I don’t see what the big deal is to me it’s a dress and the world isn’t going to end if he saw me in it, but that is just me. I didn’t get a white dress and he has excellent taste so I wanted him to see where I was going.

FH doesn’t want to see it until the wedding. He’s a bit more traditional than I am, and I probably would have shown it to him already if he hadn’t been so adamant about not seeing it.

Yes (when I find it), because he will help me shop for it. I already show him pictures of what I like and ask for his opinion. My Fiance is very respectful though, he would never impose his idea of what dress I should wear, but if I ask for his honest opinion, he will tell me exactly what he thinks. All he wants is to see me happy and confident in my dress the day we get married. And seeing me at the store doesn’t compare to seeing me all pampered and glamorous the day of our wedding. He’ll still be surprised and emotional when he sees me. In fact, he has been a few times the last Holidays, just because I put on a dress he liked (and had already seen in my closet), but once he saw me all make-up and hair done ready to go, he became emotional because he thought I looked fabulous. So really, I’m not worried about the W-Day even if he sees the dress before. 🙂
