It is a fabulously gorgeous dress, and if it is the one that you liked, then it is an added bonus that you already know he likes that one for you too.  Please don’t steer away from it because he saw it online.

My fiance saw mine online and said he didn’t like it .  I showed it to him in a large group with lots of other dresses, and he specifically said he didn’t like this one.  No matter, he’s going to love it when he sees me in it!

My fiance actually saw MY dress – we stopped to pick it up from the shop, and I was saying hello to someone.  The lady bringing my dress out actually walked over to him and handed him my dress (maybe because those things are heavy).  It was in a kinda see-through blue plastic bag.  Honestly, it didn’t matter to me at all that he saw it. . . it will look completely different once it’s on me and my hair & makeup are done.

The dress is stunning. What is the return policy from where you would order it from? Is there a shop where you can try that dress on or a dress similar in style so you can have an idea if you like that style on yourself?

hehe, I won’t even let him see pictures of dresses I’m interested in. I hide all the pages I ripped out of magazines when he’s around. I want him to be 100% surprised.

We went to two weddings shortly before my wedding.  And one of the brides’ dress was very different from mine and one was so similar to mine that at first I thought it was the same dress as mine!  So I thought I would be sneaky and ask my (then) fiance which dress he liked better.  Which was kind of stupid of me, because he liked the one that didn’t look like mine. Then we were leaving the wedding where the bride’s dress looked like mine, she goes I heard my dress looks like yours, and my husband heard it.  So then he felt bad.  But it didn’t really matter because my dress looked great and of course my husband thought it looked beautiful because I was in it!  So anyways I think the fact that your husband likes the dress you really want is even more a reason to get it 🙂

Definitely get it since you know he will like it, and you love it. I have not shown my fiance my dress nor a picture of it, but I constantly ask him about dresses he likes when we go to weddings, does he like strappless things better, etc etc. Even though I know most of his answers (i.e., what he likes) and I also am 90% sure he won’t like this one aspect of my dress (high neckline). I know he will say he loves my dress but I have this suspicion he won’t really. On the one hand that makes me kind of sad, but on the other, I thought that when I bought it, and loved it so much I didn’t care. I even told my mom "I’m not sure Fiance will like it, but I honestly don’t care right now, this is THE one!" And I could end up being wrong, I guess! We’ll see- not that he’d ever tell me he doesn’t like it! He knows better than that by now!

Go for it since you know he loves it! Doctorgirl, go you for having such a positive attitute! I agree though, it’s the overall look on the wedding day, plus the meaning behind what is going on.. they will be happy either way! To most guys, dresses are dresses!

I wouldn’t worry at all about him seeing it in a magazine. You should totally still get it, especially because he said he’d like it.

I tried suggesting using my material of my dress (cotton eyelet) for other aspects of the wedding and my fiance said he hated that material and it looks like his grandma’s tablecloth. I thought it was hilarious… what does he know?

I actually showed my FH a really colorful Wai-Ching wedding gown and he absolutely loved it! He is kind of hoping I get that one. However, the designer is in another state and I am a little uneasy about buying online especially since I am a plus size.

I really don’t mind if he sees my dress before the actual day because like another poster said, it will look different when it is actually on you and you have your hair and makeup done.

If he already likes the dress, I say go for it 🙂

Nopes!  I’m not letting him see it until I walk down the asile!!!   I want to surprise him and see his reaction on the day and have the photgrapher capture it.  He’s seen the bridesmaids dresses though!!

@Mona Lisa- I know him really well.  I know exactly why it caught his eye in a bad way (The copious tulle train), and what he’ll love about it (color, fit, rusching).

We always joke that I read him like a graphic novel!

@doctorgirl – I’ve seen your dress in the "Show Me Your Dresses" thread and I think it is fabulous! He will DEFINATELY love it when he sees you walking down the aisle! I haven’t shown my fiance my dress, although I have been SOOO tempted to! After all, I want him to love it more than anyone else! Then I remember that he doesn’t spend HOURS looking at these wedding dresses and doesn’t know the difference between trumpet, mermaid or A-line. He just wants to see me walking down the aisle as his bride. As @monalisa said, to most guys, dresses are just dresses!
