I had a long labor and a c-section so I was there for 3 days. I showered the next day since it wasn’t until pretty late into the night that I could walk again.

I showered. I had Baby T at 6am, then we had some time together. I ate and then showered a little later. Probably about 5 hours after birth. It was awesome. I had an episiotomy (Baby T’s head was off the chart in size) and they needed to get him out after 3+ hours of pushing. I was stiff, sore and exhausted, but the shower was so refreshing and wasn’t painful down there. I’m particular about shampoo and conditioner, so I brought my own.

Showering helped to make me feel like a person again. I didn’t do it right away, but I’m so glad I showered before I went home (also, showering at the hospital was a little easier than showering at home, so that was nice).

It is great to read this–but it makes me so nervous.

Giving birth just sounds so awful. 🙁
