I splurged and am incredibly happy with my blue topaz Blue Nile earrings. 🙂

I was originally looking for aquamarine earrings, but the color in the ones I got is strikingly simitar to my fiancé’s eyes. I’m a hopeless romantic and am already envisioning those earrings as future heirloom jewelry… 🙂

bibilicious :  I’ll be honest, I think this is a cultural thing, but when my Future Mother-In-Law offered to buy my jewelery, I figured it would be costume and I thought that was…odd. In my culture you would wear very nice jewelery, at least 14k gold, and would probably be from your family’s collection. My mom was like “….wait, what? fake jewlery? after spending thousands of dollars on a wedding people get nervous about buying something they would actually wear again?”. So I am just wearing some family pieces that are gold and have some diamonds in them. I didn’t realize how popular it is to wear costume jewlery until I started planning my own wedding. I mean, even my bridesmaids are getting real silver, haha.
