We went slightly over.  But my parents paid for everything so it wasn’t really up to me.  Basically for each individual item I would just tell my dad what I wanted and what it cost and he would give it the yay or nay.

We’re six weeks out and under by about $900. Our total budget was $5k. Hit me up with this question when it’s all said and done haha.

I went over budget mostly because we set a tentative budget before we looked into how much things actually cost. It was unrealistic for what we wanted. While we did go over that number, I think that we did really well for what we got. I went over on my dress, but if you go back through my profile and see my embarrassing dress saga (I was a 4 dress bride), I felt it was worth it (and I’m trying to sell to recoup partial cost). We also splurged on flowers, which I do regret but only because they were not well done. I would spend it again only make sure I picked a better florist! Otherwise, everything was well under/within our budget.

@.twist.: I am so cheap so that really helped 🙂 Fiance begged me to spend money on some things.

We are  planning our wedding now and we are over budget. My parents are paying for most of our wedding and they don’t care how much over we are. They didn’t think our buget was realistic to begin with. We didnt add in our honeymoon to our budget and we havent decided where to go.

If my mother did not have to have things done her way then we would have stayed in budget. It started out at 2500 when it was us paying for it. Then it went to double that when she got involved. Now it is looking like 8k. And the wedding is still a few weeks away.

I’m at or under budget so far on everything but the reception food/drink bill.  We won’t know how over we will be until we get a final head count, but we will most certainly be over where we wanted to be even if we get lots of no responses.

Being about 7 weeks out, I’m under budget by ONLY $600. However, there are a few things that are going to come through which I know will put us over. I expect that we’ll be over budget by about $1000.

We went a few thousand over our original budget, but like @Amaryllis we also set our initial budget before we really realized what things cost. After pricing everything out, there were a lot of things we hadn’t initially accounted for. I still think we’re getting a great value for what we’re spending and I feel good about how much we shopped around to find the good deals. We’re still spending probably way too much money, but at least we’ve done a good job saving up for it and we can pay it in cash!
