With my first pregnancy, this was actually a fight Darling Husband and I had.  I was in my TWW, and i was horribly, disgustingly, EPICALLY cranky.

At one point, he asked me what the hell my problem was, and I said (snarled) “My period is on the way and I don’t want it.

A few days later, I got a positive test.

I symptom spotted like nobody’s business, but the cycle I got my actual BFP, I was totally fooled.

I could say pretty much the same that I was sure AF was on the way. I have been TTC for a long, long time. Years, and years. I have been through many TWW’s, and this to me did not seem much different. TTC can wear you down and I have been doing medicated cycles so I have been a little more emotional. Around 8dpo I had a meltdown and cried and argued with Darling Husband over absolutely nothing. It was a real pity party about the whole thing. I cried and talked about how bitter I was with our issues, that I felt like pregnancy was never going to happen for us. A couple hours later, I realized I was a nut case and told Darling Husband I am sorry, I am just so emotional…pms. blah.

And 10dpo in the evening, I was absolutely SHOCKED to get a positive pregnancy test.

I was so, SOOOO sure my period was on the way that I bought a box of tampons & a bottle of wine.  I had cramps, was a little tired, and had a negative urine test the week before my period.  (The test was a dollar store test, which is completely reliable AFTER you’ve missed your period… it wasn’t until the day I was supposed to start that I bought a First Response Early Result and got a BFP.)

I posted about this very thing on the Dec POAS board last night! I am 8 DPO and I feel NOTHING! My boobs are sore but they are always sore the week leading up to AF so nothing new there. It’s so discouraging because lots of women report all these symptoms in the tww (sore nipples, pelvic pain, spotting, emotional, etc). I have none of that and never have in any of my tww’s (been ttc for 7 months now). I’d love some encouragement from bees who felt completely “normal” then ended up with a BFP!

I voted other because I had all the same symptoms but a in a different way and with a few extra.  I had cramps, but they came earlier than they should have. Same with sore boobs. I was cranky and emotional but it was a little more extreme. I didn’t spot, which I usually do, and I was HUNGRY.  Plus I had a couple sharp pains in my lower left side that I’d never had before.  I started crying on that Sunday because I was so hungry and I didn’t know what I wanted to eat (perfectly logical breakdown) and my husband was like, “What is wrong with you?!” I told him I thought I might be pregnant and laughed (We were trying, btw) and he looked at me dead serious and said, “I certainly hope not because I can’t take 9 months of this!” Next morning, BFP. LOL.

I definitely thought AF was on the way, but that’s because I spotted for three days before getting my BFP. I drank a whole bunch of wine to make myself feel better, as I was certain it wasn’t my month.

In terms of symptoms, I started experiencing them on 9DPO. They were different than my normal PMS symptoms, as I normally didn’t have any PMS symptoms! I was peeing a lot more than usual, I had some cramping, I was SUPER hungry (like, audibly growling stomach all day long) and had some odd CM. I got my BFP on 13DPO.

    Good luck to you!

    ETA: I voted “other.”

I typically don’t get PMS symptoms and I didn’t really have any early pregnancy symptoms. So I wasn’t convinced AF was about to come but I had no real reason to believe it wouldn’t — Darling Husband and I only had sex once anywhere near my fertile window, and I had myself convinced I’d already ovulated that month so I really didn’t think I could be pregnant!

I swore AF was on her way. I had bloating and cramping just like PMS.

Both of my sisters and my mom said they swore they were getting their period, but it actually turned out they were pregnant.

I know some women say they knew when they were pregnant – but not me!

I felt for sure that AF was on her way, I had exactly the same symptoms I have every month.  I told myself I was out so I wouldn’t be disappointed because I was so sure I wasn’t, I got the shock of my life when I got a positive!

cowgirlace :  I actually tested before my period was due just for fun and it was VERY positive. So then a few days later when I was period cramping like nobodys business and moody and bloated and ALL my normal symptoms I thought for sure the test was wrong and I was about to start. I thought that everyday for about 3 days and tested again….still positive so I knew then that it was real. The symptoms were exactly the same.
