I wouldn’t want to take anything… even if that meant I would cried like crazy… lol

I know the day is going to wizz like a blur already… I’d hate to add to that.

I’m sure you’ll be just fine πŸ˜‰

That’s funny because Fiance JUST asked me about this last night!  I have major anxiety when it comes to medical stuff (mostly because of previous illnesses/experiences when I was younger).  I have to take valium to go to the gyno!  I know I’m going to be really nervous, but I don’t think I’m going to take anything because it usually makes me kinda loopy and out of it.  I wanna remember my day without everything being fuzzy!

πŸ™‚ Take a shot of alcohol. Your choice of type and just one.

But really, it isn’t that bad. Everything will happen fast. I think you’d be better off talking to a friend or counselor about your fears. You have six months so you may as well get it figured out now. If you’re just nervous about saying your vows in public, practice now. And just focus on being with the man you love. During our ceremony, it was just me, him, and the officiant. I didn’t even think about the guests. It’ll be ok. πŸ™‚

Watch 16 Candles if you haven’t already.  Both legal and illegal “calm down” meds can make you pretty out of it if you don’t have the type and dose dialed.  I recently went to a wedding where the groom seemed baked, and I thought it really took away from ceremony.  It was like he wasn’t really present.

Prescription anxiety meds might not give you the desired effect at all if you’re not used to taking them, and they can be difficult to stop.  Most require tapering and can lead to worse anxiety while you’re quitting them.  Even if you go on them now and stay on them, you need to accept possible side effects.  As a friend of mine on Paxil put it, you’ll gain weight, but you won’t care.

Anxiety meds have helped 2 of my friends get through rough patches.  I also have 4 friends and family members who are Xanax addicts.  I’d be more worried about that than anything that would happen at my wedding.

Have you tried other interventions for your stress and anxiety like exercise or massage?

@missmichigan: I am cracking up!  But no, I didn’t.  I did have a glass of champagne (ok, or 3) right after though πŸ™‚

My BMs and I indulged in a fatty beforehand and we all remember everything just fine!
