I brought it home but left it at my parents where Darling Husband wouldn’t see it…. I just didn’t trust the store to keep it. Sure they’d be responsible but if something did happen, did I want to scrammble for a new dress last minute? And the bridal store could burn down just like your house :-s

    Hard decision to make!

I took mine home.  I’d rather have it with me than at the store.  Now it’s hanging in my closet waiting for alterations, and I can gaze longingly at it anytime I want.

I was able to take all of my dresses home as soon as I bought them (or wait for shipping).  I need to work on some resells now!  LOL.

Plus I can slip it on any time Fiance leaves the house if it’s in my home!  I try it on all. the. time.  It does need a hemming.

I left mine at the store, too much risk of me getting it dirty, etc from trying it on at home! I have my wedding band and home, and I tried that on plenty so I can’t imagine how much I would have with the dress!

Mine is staying at the salon up until like the week before the wedding (along with my rehearsal dinner dress). I definitely didn’t want it at my house and I didn’t want to bring it back and forth during alterations. But my salon is a really small boutique, they only see one bride at a time, big on personal service etc. and the owner is amazing so I have complete confidence that it will be 100% safe with her!

Mine’s at the bridal shop – I’m actually picking it up tomorrow as my wedding is on Saturday! They offered to keep it when the alterations were done. So they stored it and at the beginning of this week it was steamed for me to take home tomorrow 🙂

I asked the store if it could stay there and they said they can hold onto it only for a couple months.  They recommended I take it home because the ivory might change color under their bright lights.  So I decided to just take it home and make room in the closet (was almost impossible)!

I left mine at the bridal salon. They have a fire proof vault they keep the dresses in so I suppose it’s safer there!

I left mine at the store. They are used to storing dresses there, so I knew they would take good care of it. Plus, I didn’t have a lot of extra space in my closet at home.

We have renters insurance, so the dress would actually be covered if the house burned down!

I brought mine home just for peace of mind, and to stare longingly at it 😉

@crayfish:  Diddo! I brought mine home & it’s in our spare bedroom. We have renters insurance as well & I love taking a peek at my dress every few weeks! 🙂

I’ll be leaving it at the store as long as possible. I’ll have to pick it up like the week before since its 4 hours awayI wouldn’t dare to bring it home with 3 dogs. When I do bring it home it will probably go to my moms office (she owns it) where there is no dogs and can be protected.

I’m picking mine up 6 days before the wedding. Tbh, I trust my dress being at the salon more than at home. Plus, they’re steaming t for me the day I pick it up, so I’d rather not haul my dress back and forth for the steaming lol. It’s a huge heavy dress.
