It’s been a while since I got married, but I took my dress home with me as soon as it came in.  Then brought it back when it was time to start the alterations a few months before the wedding.  I wasn’t worried so much about the store catching on fire.  I was more worried that my dress could be tried on by someone else.  Not that I had a reason to not trust the boutique I bought my dress from, but I wondered if they would just let another bride try on my unaltered dress as a sample?  Maybe I was a bit paranoid, but frankly I think you made the right decision.

Yes! We have his and her closets so I wasn’t worried about him seeing it. Besides, he knows how important it is to me that he waits. I’ve only tried it on a few times to make sure my petticoat and shoes were compatible. It just sits there in the garment bag waiting for the day it was made for to arrive so it can live it’s purpose.

Edit: Not worried about losing it in a fire and home owners insurance covers that anyway.

I took it home (Well, my parent’s home).  Firstly because I am using a different seamstress, secondly because I could look at it more!

honestly it never crossed my mind I would leave it at the store.

Who knows what they will do there.  What if they let other brides try it out 😛

I am not planning to get the alterations at that salon, as it’s way to far out for me plus they don’t have in house alterations.

I just leave it in closet.  Fiance took a peek at it through the bag opening, but haven’t seen the whole dress on me yet  🙂

Mine is at my parents’ house.  I don’t think it was even an option to leave it at the store – but I wouldn’t want to, just in case…
