I only talked to a few of my close friends about it… because I had already been venting to them about how I didn’t know what I was going to do… i didn’t want to wait wait wait but I didn’t want to break up.. I was a bit of a mess so I thought I’d update them when things were looking up. No one really asks me questions. But I can tell my family and close family friends aren’t really happy that he hasn’t “taken care of it” sooner.

I told my mom and my bet friend, only because I could not keep the excitement in

I told my best friend and that was it. Both my parents are really eager for a wedding, and I didn’t want to get them too excited for something that could still be a way’s away. Plus it was something that he keeps saying is going to be a big surprise. I didn’t want to mention it to a ton of people and make him feel like I took something away from him. He wants everyone to be surprised too, so I’ve kept my mouth shut!! It’s been hard though, thank god for WB!!! 🙂

I only told a few close friends and family, mostly because I hope when he actually does propose, it will be a fun surprise for everyone else!

@smiles4jo:  Honestly, the entire reason why I had to put my foot down a couple of months ago and be like, you need to be honest about what you expect. It’s been 4 years. I am not moving in with you unless this is all out on the table. If i’m not engaged by the end of this year, I can’t move. If that’s not in your cards. My mom was the one that planted that seed. I was being too nice, I didn’t want to make waves. She’s the reason I realized I had to stand up for myself, so I have told her the progress, but she’s really skeptical…. 🙁

I told too many people about us looking at the ring I picked out. I really regret it now, but at the time (June 2011) I was so tired of the questions and having nothing to respond with that I felt better being able to say “Soon. We went to look at my ring and he is paying for it”.

Well that was 7 months ago. It is a rather inexpensive ring that should have been paid off by now, and nothing. I feel dumber than ever and embarassed because the questions stopped for a while but have started up again. I have nothing else to say to people. I just feel stupid.

I think of ring shopping together as a big deal, but don’t really share that with other people unless they asked.  I went ring shopping by myself today and feel a little embarrassed about it, but will probably tell my bf the next time we chat.  I haven’t told my parents though, and probably won’t.

I’m with love108 and Smiles4jo, my bf has been dragging his feet a bit also, and I’ve told him where I stand.  I’m not sure what he’ll do with that information however; some days I feel like he’s wasting my time and other days I feel like we really are going to get engaged soon.  He’s told me that he’s not wasting my time so I’m not sure what his hold up is. . . .

When my Fiance and I went ring shopping I didn’t tell a soul (except the hive, obviously). We didn’t really tell anyone because we wanted our engagement to be more of a surprise and we were shopping for a certain brand of CZ rings (didn’t end up going with them) and I know people can be judgemental about CZ, so I just didn’t want to say anything. I did tell my best friend, and only her, when we started looking at moissanite rings online together and I told her when he bought the ring, but we didn’t tell anyone else.

We’re going to look at rings this week (!), but I’ve only told my roommate (simply for the sake of having SOMEONE to share in the excitement). I’m determined that it will be a surprise for everyone else.

We told my dad we were going to look and he actually suggested where to go. That’s where we ended up finding it too.
