@lealorali:  I didnt meticulously plan to have my baby due in august but my mum (psychic) predicted that i would be due in august so even though i just had a miscarriage in october i worked out that if i got pregnant that cycle i would be due august 2nd or the cycle after august 31st so i tried straight away just because i thought if i got pregnant to be due in august this baby might actually survive and i wouldnt miscarry (crazy i know) and it worked im due august 2nd. It also helps to have a baby in the summer so i dont have to do the school run for a few weeks lol.

I am a volleyball coach (like a second job) and right now is club season. I knew that I didn’t want to be close to delivery at any point during this time through May. I am also the athletic director for the local CYO for girl’s volleyball and start coaching for CYO in August. With all this in mind we wanted to have the baby in June or at the very least early July.

Well we tried but it took us two months so we are expecting an early to mid-August baby. A month or so off and yeah it will be a bit bumpy come August but oh well!

I want our baby to be born in the first half of the school year, so I’ll have a 6 month window (actually a 5 month window as I don’t want to risk the baby being born a few weeks early and ending up being the youngest!) 🙂  I’m quite confident, though you never know til you try! Ttc in 7 months from now!

We tried to time for a march/april baby and I ended up with a July due date instead. Sometimes things don’t always work for you on that front and mother nature was less than cooperative with my timeline. In any case, I can take up to a year unpaid for my job (I also work for the schools) so July actually worked to my advantage 🙂 I’d rather have the full year than have to force myself back haflway through a school year but we’re also lucky to be in a financial situation that allows for me to take that year.

@DaniLyn:  I think it depends on the district. I grew up in Illinois and the “cut off” date was that the kid had to be X years old by late august to attend school that year, thus making kids born in Fall the oldest in their class.

No. Worst timing ever. Haha.  We actually TTC for 5 cycles and then stopped for 4 because my sister was getting married in Mexico and we didn’t want to have a small  infant or to be so pregnant I couldn’t fly.  When we started trying again we got pregnant but found out at 20 weeks that we had twins so my entire family was in Mexico celebrating her wedding without me. Oh and we had already booked so lost some money when we cancelled and I had bought my bridesmaid dress (a couple sizes up in order to fit it pregnant). Basically the wedding cost me $500 and I didn’t even get to see her walk down the aisle. Worst.

My due date is July 29th and my Darling Husband is OBSESSED with me not giving birth till after Aug 1st. Apparently, it’s some sports cut-off in his home country (where the kids will eventually be raised). When we did our hospital tour, he was asking the lady a thousand questions about how likely it was the baby would be born early. I think she thought he was crazy! He hasn’t been with me to our OB yet – I’m scared for our poor OB when he does!

We didn’t plan the timing at all, just got started as soon as we could. However, it worked out well from both a personal point of view and a professional one. Personally, I didn’t want to be very pregnant in the summer – we live in the Southern Hemisphere so our July baby will be a winter baby. We don’t have air con in our place so I was be miserable if I were hugely pg in that heat!

Professionally, I’ll be taking a year so it doesn’t REALLY matter, but it works out well for whomever take overs my role. I’m an accountant, and I’ll go on leave just as we’re in the middle of doing budgets for the following year. That means I can hand over the process, but the new person can be involved in setting the budget she/he will be analyzing all year which will make things easier for them.

All in all, we’re happy with our timing 🙂

We’re planning to time it right so that the baby is due right around my grad school graduation so I can take the summer off and start my job I’m august, hopefully it works!

We didn’t necessarily plan a month we wanted to have the baby but we did plan a general season and were fairly successful. I knew I didn’t want an infant in the dead of winter. Fall or spring were fine, but where we live I did not want to deal with a newborn anywhere between december and March. I am due in September so at least itty bitty will be 3 months before the really intense cold comes. If we didn’t get pregnant when we did we were going to stop trying for a few months until we would have a spring baby

My aunt planned to have her kids right before the summer so she wouldn’t have to be pregnant in the intense heat. They were born 3 years apart on the exact same day right before the summer! I’d say she had it down pat she is very type A personality.

We are getting married in June and shooting for a late May/early June 2015 baby.  I’m in nursing school until December 2015, but we don’t want to wait until 2016 to have a baby.  I will get off birth control in July to let my body regulate before we start trying at the very end of August or early September.  If we aren’t successful within 2 cycles, we will stop trying for 6 months so I don’t have to postpone my last semester of school.
