I have posted before that Darling Husband and I would like to start TTC by the end of this year.
But, now that we decided to renew our lease on our 1 BR apt til Jan 2p15, we are holding off til we move into a 2BR.Darling Husband saod that he wants me to be completely stress freedurinf the time we are TTC and then…he threw in that maybe we should staet trying next summer (2015) so we can have a Spring baby.
Me, I don’t care what season I have a baby. And on top of that, not everything goes according to plan. He is worried about me being pregnant in the summer. Ultimately Darling Husband said he os ready whenever I am (just not now) but I would def want to start TTC early next year.
Did any of you bees plan to have your baby during a certain season? How did that work out?

Like you said, not everything goes according to plan. It might take you one try, it might take you many tries. Trying to plan when you’ll conceive is like trying to plan your wedding for a sunny day. Totally impossible to predict.

@Daizy914: I sure did! I didn’t want to be heavily pregnant in Summer.. and we have very tropical Summers here (90 – 100, 80%+ humidity) so we started TTC in October/November (we have summer during Dec/Jan/Feb) By pure good luck and timing, I was pregnant within the first month! My daughter arrived August 11, right in Winter 😀 Perfect timing. She was also 11 lbs 4 so I am extra glad I wasn’t carrying THAT around during Summer! (This was also 13 years ago)

We’ve only just started trying in December, but I told Darling Husband that we will stop trying March-May because I really don’t want a winter baby, especially December. We already have 6 December birthdays and 3 January birthdays in our families. Plus, after the awful cold and snow we’ve had this year, I’m terrified of not being able to get to the hospital if there’s a snow storm.

The timeline we agreed to for other reasons has us starting to try in fall, so if things happen easily we’d have baby in spring, which is my preference….but i wouldn’t stop trying in dec just to avoid a summer pregnancy…

I used to toy with the idea of having a baby around springtime….but we’ve been TTC for almost a year, In the past several months we discovered that I have PCOS and hubby has a low sperm count. So at this rate…we really don’t care when we have a baby…as long as we eventually do.
I don’t mean to put a damper on things…i just want to say that I never expected this to happen to us, not in a million years….Even the most organised and careful of people can’t be in control of when they’re going to concieve….delaying something like this doesn’t always work. While you wait, the biological clock is ticking too.

@Daizy914: We planned to have a baby in the spring and we are due April 7th 2014. We were really lucky though! while I’m glad to not be 9 months pregnant in the middle of summer, I have found being pregnant hard this winter. We have had so much snow and ice that I’m terrified of falling! Couple that with the below freezing temperatures and I’m getting a little stir crazy!

@Adams_bee: thats what i told Darling Husband. I am going to be 30 next year, so I am no spring chicken. and if we want 2 kids, we need to start trying, asap.

@Daizy914: Yep, that is the plan. I dont want the baby to be born in July, Sept or Oct. I want it to have its own month. Preferably like March-May. 🙂

I am a teacher. With what I teach, it’s really important for me to be there in the months of April and May. I wanted to try to plan the pregnancy around that. We started trying in April and got pregnant the first try. What was really nice was that I was on summer vacation for first trimester (which meant I could sleep just about whenever I wanted). I was right around 36 weeks when winter break started, so I was off work for two weeks near the end of my pregnancy. I really lucked out, because we had snow days on top of that, so I am actually getting close to 4 months off. I’ll go back to work for 8 weeks, then have a 10 week summer vacation. Not too bad!

When we TTC we are going to try to avoid having a tax season baby… February-April 15 and August-October 15 because I work in public accounting. It would not only be super stressful the year the baby is born but also stressful for me to celebrate birthdays in later years. Of course, if we are not successful we will probably throw caution to the wind and try for a baby at any time. I would probably then switch to private accounting.

We started NTNP/TTC in December with hopes of an autumn baby – I don’t particularly want to have one too close to Christmas, but I don’t think we’ll be taking a break just to avoid this. I’d also prefer not to be heavily pregnant in the summer, but again – I’ll take it as it comes. My corner of the world isn’t really known for heatwaves anyway, ha!

We have been ttc since June 2013 and my “goal” was to be knocked up by September. That came and went. Then my next “goal” was January, again that came and went. As much as you try to have a baby in a certain season, it really doesn’t always work that way. At this point I will take whatever we get.
But that being said, I have thought about TTA in the month of March. I’m not sure I want a December baby….I’m a December baby and really don’t wish it on anyone.

All I wanted was to not be pregnant in the summer! Of course with my first baby we got pregnant in January (sort of a miracle thing) and I was pregnant all summer! This time I will be pregnant all winter and have the baby in April. Being pregnant in the summer was much better lol!

My pregnancy was unplanned. I definitely would not have wanted a baby in the middle of the summer! July 12th! lol!!! Yet, I’m happy regardless! 😀
In the future, I will definitely plan it around seasons and work schedules!
