- Wedding: September 2011 - Epworth UMC & Ward Pavilion
Hey guys! We are buying our own drinks for the reception. I know there are a million drink calculators out there, and I’m wondering:
1) If you used one, which one did you use?
2) How accurate was it? (Did you run out of drinks or have a ton of leftovers?)
3) What kind of alcohol/non-alcoholic beverages did you get? (Did you get beer, wine, liquor, pop, juice, etc.?)
We’re definitely doing beer and wine and toying with the idea of liquor and are trying to figure out how much we need. Any advice is appreciated. 🙂

Our venue supplies soft drink, juice and non alcoholic fruit punch, so we are just supplying beer and wine, champagne. We are having a cash bar for spirits, (not an faux pas down in Aus.) We are also thinking of having 2 signature cocktails.
We are having about 120 adults, and are planning on the following:
3 doz. champagne
4 doz. white wine
1 doz. red wine
2 doz. long necks light beer
12 doz. long necks heavy beer
This works out to 480 glasses of wine, 470 pots of beer, or 8 drinks per adult over 5 hours. Obviously not everyone will be drinking, or some will drink more, so we are hoping that will be enough. We are also planning on maybe having an extra case of white wine, champagne, and heavy beer just in case. The liquor shop we are buying from takes returns of unopened cases, so thats a big help. Anything we don’t return will become christmas presents 3 weeks after our wedding. 🙂
