It doesn’t hurt to take herbs. Meds are different though, depends on what type you are talking about. Vitamins are great. I have a friend who swore on this stuff. I tried it one month and couldn’t handle the taste but I’ve heard stories that it works great.

You should be taking prenatals right now if you aren’t yet, it’s good to get your body ready. I take these. Good luck!

Actually, herbs CAN hurt, do independent research prior to just taking anything. Don’t believe what a random website or sales person promise. I started to take Red Raspberry Leaf Tea and fish oil, but that was after reading about it in reputable books written by credentialed authors. I also did research into what brands were best. Herbs aren’t regulated by the government and may not have what they say they have in it. They may also have the wrong part of the plant/herb, but can still label it as having the herb in it. Personally, I found Vitamin Shoppe to have decent brands (at least a lot better than GNC and cheaper than Whole Foods).

I agree, prenatals are advisable to all women of child bearing years not on birth control.

@mrsedwardslpn:  If you are just talking about different things to aid you in getting pregnant, that first link I posted, Fertility Prep, is apparently great. Like I said, I couldn’t handle the taste so I didn’t actually try it but it’s worth a try. I don’t think it is necessary for you right now though, you could get pregnant really easily and not need any of this.

@mrsedwardslpn:  Oh okay, I didn’t realize that. I know there are some tea’s that I’ve heard can help but I don’t know how much. I would research vitamins and talk to your doctor and find out which vitamins you need. Such a tough process! Not sure how long you’ve been trying but you should check out the 6+ Month TTC Group for some support. It’s so amazing to have ladies to talk to.

I wouldn’t worry about herbs and meds yet as you haven’t done any charting or anything yet either.

Start taking prenatal vitamins asap – ones with folic acid (at least 800mg). Any are fine – i take a gummy one and love it.

Do the charting and OPK’s as soon as you get them in the mail.

after you’ve charted for 4-6 months, then start to talk to your doctor about other things (herbs, meds, etc). I wouldn’t do anything untilyou chart for a while since it will give  you so much more information to work with

at my local grocery store. You can also get them on Amazon. They are Vitafusion or something like that brand. Prenatal Gummy vitamins.

Considering you have a diagnosed issue, I would personally talk to your MD or find a naturopath, midwife or other knowledgeable credentialed professional who can review your medical history to consult with prior taking anything. I am also happy to hear you will start charting/temping as that could be very informative.

I take generic prenatals (CVS brand) and Nordic Naturals Cod Liver Oil.
