I woke up to little love notes all over the house (and belgian chocolates), I feel really lucky to have such a romantic guy.

Haha, seeing as I wake up at 5:30 for work and Darling Husband gets up a few hours later, I did not have any surprises this morning. I did get a sweet moment, though. I always kiss him goodbye in the mornings and he just kind of stirs a little, wakes up halfway, and says goodbye. A lot of times he doesn’t even remember. This morning I kissed him and said “Happy Valentine’s Day!” and he rolled over a little and really sleepily said, “Happy Valentine’s Day, I have the most beautiful wife.” It helped me start my day with a smile 🙂

@MissCalifornia:  Honestly, that’s exactly how it was.

His alarm goes off, he hits snooze for 5 more minutes (The sun was not up at this time.)

We both get up. Sun is still not up. He gets ready for work, crawls into his flightsuit and a word has not been spoken yet. I get his coffee ready and slowly crawl into proper clothes.

He’s finished from getting ready and we’re headed out to the car. Still dark. Still no words. I get in the car, he gets in, takes a sip of his coffee and looks at me. I look at him. We’re both tired as hell. I grunt. He grunts back.

Ride to work was silent. I phased out (Good move on the freeway.) He browsed reddit on his phone.

We get to the gate to get on base. We both just nod at the fella who checks our IDs. Usually we make small talk, but we were still pretty bushed this morning.

I drop him off at work, kisses are passed around, we’re both able to mutter and “I love you.”

Silence all the way back home.

Mornings blow.

We don’t live together but when I went to leave for work, I found a giant homemade card and chocolate on my car! It’s the little/simple things!

My Fiance made a donation on my behalf to an animal rescue group. It was the best gift ever. I don’t really see the point of expensive, possibly pesticide ridden flowers (just my thought; they are beautiful though). I will admit though, I’m hoping for some chocolate at some point too!

Pancakes!  Normally that is not something that we would have on a week day.  I’m also feeling pretty horrible today, so I didn’t even wake up from the noise in the kitchen.

@Hyperventilate:  I’m one of those rare annoying morning people, so I’m always bustling around but my SO *hates* mornings and barely speaks. It made me nervous when we were first seeing each other ’cause I mistook his quietness in the mornings for him being mad at me lol.

@MissCalifornia:  We both despise mornings. Some mornings are worse than others, though. Really not sure why as we usually get the same amount of sleep. I don’t like getting up before the sun, and I don’t suspect he does either, so we both kinda… look at each other and stagger around like zombies to get ready.

I’ve always been quiet in the mornings, so I guess it didn’t phase me that he was the same way.

Perky people in the mornings piss me right the hell off, though. I remember when my husband was driving me to the airport, we stopped for breakfast and our waitress was one of those “Farts sunshine and rainbows” kind of perky.

I wanted to trip her, but my husband told me no. Shame. 😛

@Hyperventilate:  Haha, yeah, I think I sometimes make my coworkers want to trip me when I’m so cheery in the mornings. Idk, I didn’t used to be like this – in college I was definitely a “rawr, let me sleep I hate all of you” person but working 8-5:30 changed that.

My husband got me a funny card (about grabbing my butt while hugging… so him) and a serious one. He also got me a card from the stepsons (which they “signed”). He also bought a glass canister and filled it with 30 cards. On each card he put something sweet about me/us and I will get to pull one out for the next 29 days. The first one I pulled out said “I appreciate everything you do”.

This man did GOOD!

My SO and I are going out tonight (double date actually) and have a trip planned to see friends in New York next weekend, the trip was originally unrelated but we decided to roll it all in and celebrate in the city. Were not BIG on flowers, candy etc so its a little different for us. But I like seeing what other people are doing 🙂
