I need some hive assistance! I can’t decide if I should order this coverup to go with my wedding dress.
This is what the bodice of my dress looks like (champagne with white sequins and lace):

And this is the cardi in question (keep in mind that my style is funky and eclectic and this is something I might wear after my wedding day for going out):

If you like it, why not? I am considering a cardigan for when it gets cold…I might/might not wear it, but if it makes you happy, I say go for it.

What is the weather like where you are? If it will be cold around the wedding then I would wear something to coverup.

@bells: October in Ohio is sort of weird and fickle. The average is high of 63 and low of 42, so I assume it will be in the 50s that day.

Gotta confess, part of me wants to click on the third option because it’s hilarious! Love your sense of humor. On to more helpful thoughts… I think a cardigan would look great with your dress, but is that one too long? A cropped cardigan might be more in keeping with the silhouette of the dress.

When I think “funky, eclectic” shrug, I definitely don’t think of a 3/4 sleeve cream cardi with sequins. I think it’s possible that it could work, depending on other aspects of your design and style, just doesn’t seem to go with the dress IMO. Not knowing anything else about your wedding, I’d say a colored bolero of some sort would be cuter but your hair, grooms clothes, flowers, venue, etc. definitely plays a part.

I say go for it, If you dont end up actually wearing it at the wedding you can wear it after.

I voted no even though I like the cardigan itself. I think it’s too long and will cover up the detailing of your dress. Also, it looks like your dress is really fitted at the waist, and the length of this sweater will hide that and maybe give you a boxy look.

I forgot to mention that any coverup I buy will need to cover my entire back because I have a full back tattoo. That’s why I haven’t been looking at boleros – they don’t come down far enough in the back (unless someone can point me towards one that might!)

Oops, my bad – could an admin move this to Accessory? I thought I’d posted it there, but I guess not.
