I said ‘no, I wore a fake’, but I haven’t taken my honeymoon yet – that’s just the plan. We’re doing a cruise to Mexico and I’m not risking it!

I’m not yet married but do a lot of traveling for work.  Especially when going abroad, I don’t bring my e-ring.  My regular wedding ring has diamonds all around, but we also bought a separate plain white gold band for me to wear when I’m traveling.  I want to denote that I’m married, but having it stolen or coming up missing isn’t a chance I’m willing to take.

That said, do you have an insurance policy on your ring?  Many will cover the ring if it’s stolen.  Europe isn’t one fo the places I’d be more concerned about, but of course, theft could happen anywhere.

We haven’t been on our honeymoon yet but I will def be wearing my ring.  The only time I have taken my ring off was at the wedding and that was just to switch them around so my wedding band was on the bottom.

I wore my wedding band, but not my engagement ring.

I plan on wearing mine and just never taking it off.  If you’re super worried, you could get a slightly too small ring guard to make sure it doesn’t fly off somewhere.  I also agree that the mugger won’t know the difference between fake and real.

We went to Germany and the Netherlands, and I wore my wedding and engagement rings the entire time. However, I didn’t bring any other jewelry because I didn’t want it to get lost or stolen. I think if you feel uncomfortable at any time while you’re on your honeymoon, you can just turn your engagement ring around so the stone is facing your palm. That’s what I do if I’m ever in a situation where I don’t want to draw attention to my ring. Honestly, I’d worry more about being mugged for my purse than my rings.

I wear my rings all the time.  If unfortunately the are stolen/ lost, that’s what jewlery insurance is for.

I wore both my rings (they’re soldered) on my European honeymoon.  If we were going somewhere else, I might not have, but I figured Europe is just as safe as the US.

I would say everyone should have insurance on their ring no matter where they are.

I’m not sure why you think a ring would have a higher chance of getting stolen in Europe? I live in Europe and all married women here walk around wearing their rings just like they do in the States.

my DH and i wore matching titanium bands (what we call our “stunt bands”) for our honeymoon – it was nice to not have to worry about them, even when we were going in the ocean and climbing waterfalls and horseback riding

they dont look like my real ring, but it is still a wedding band, and i was much more comfortable that way

@Baileyh: I wore my wedding band but not my e-ring. I’m glad I left it at home–I didn’t have to worry about storing anything in the safe, since i just wore my wedding band everywhere.

Yes, but we’re staying in Canada. I’m not expecting a whole lot of muggers on Prince Edward Island!
