Hello! I’m trying to decide whether to really make an effort to tone up before my wedding in two months. I’m a healthy weight, size 8, but sometimes I think my arms/face look pudgy in photos. I can’t decide whether to really put effort into losing fat and toning up or to just try to be happy with the way I am. I don’t want to look at my wedding photos and be disappointed! Anyone else feel the same way? Thanks!

Yep I am. I’ve gained alot over the past few years, and I’d like to lost 50 pounds in a year (wedding is next June). My goal is 20 lbs by November for dress shopping, and the remaining 30 by the wedding. (hoping alterations can be done) I know if I’m not at a comfortable weight on my wedding day, I’ll always regret it

I am trying but it has been rough. I’ve lost 8lbs so far but would really love to lose 10 more. I feel like it has been super difficult and slow moving, but this week I have amped up my workouts and am cleaning up my diet a bit more. I find it hard to stay consistent with my diet so it takes longer for the weight to come off. My biggest issues is my arms, I feel like they make me look heavier than I am and they don’t photograph well. I have a strapless dress so thate been my biggest focus.

Not trying to lose weight since I’m not overweight, but just trying to get in better shape. I’ve been doing crossfit 3 times a week for a few months and will buy my wedding dress next month. My fiance can definitely tell a difference in my abs and butt so I’m going to keep at it 🙂

I chose yes, I did lose weight for my wedding. But really, I didn’t lose it FOR the wedding. The wedding was just one of the MANY reasons, and probably the least important one to me, to be honest. Things like health and constant pain were my main reasons for wanting to lose weight.
I actually had lost most of the weight I wanted to lose about 3 months before the wedding, and I’m SO glad I did because my weightloss pretty much stalled after that. Just had too much going on and couldn’t dedicate myself the way I had been.
I was also a decent amount overweight. I lose 65 pounds, and would like to lose about 5 more.

Over the last 2 months, I:
– started going swimming twice a week as well as a weekly dance class
– cut out chocolate, cake, biscuits, crisps, alcohol etc
– switched toast for cereal in the mornings
– had a light lunch (usually salad) and snacked only on fruit
I lost a good number of pounds and I am in great shape for my wedding TOMORROW! I love my wedding-ready figure, it has given me a lot more self confidence and I feel better for being more healthy. 🙂

I’ve been married a long time, but I did not try to lose weight for my wedding. I was going to the gym 4 times a week but it was to be healthy, not to shed pounds. 🙂

I definitely want to shed a good amount of ell bee’s .. I’m the chinkiest I’ve ever been in my life and feinitely dont want to get married or take engagement looking like this. My goal is at least 30-35 by the dress fittings/pics in Oct and another 30 by the wedding, next may – It’s a lot but I’m hoping mind of matter takes over!

raspberrymojito: Im a size 8 too and pretty happy with my weight, but i have been going to the gym to get more toned and healthier overall. Also I’ve tried to drink more water/tea and lead a healthier lifestyle for the wedding, and also just to improve myself. Trying not to lose weight though as my dress fits and i dont want to have it taken in!

raspberrymojito: well I have always had a problem with my size/weight. I originally wanted to lose like 15-20 lbs but Fiance thinks I’ll be too skinny (I’m currently 5’4″ about 117) so now I’m aiming for around 5-10. I’m wearing a super fitted dress, though, so I would like to tone up my tummy for sure. It fits almost perfect now but I think if I tone up just a bit it’ll fit even better and I won’t have to worry about holding my tummy in all night and being uncomfortable! I also want to tone up my arms a little too tho.

raspberrymojito: Yuppers. For the most part I am happy with my body (thankfully) but I feel like my arms look HUGE in photos so toning and living healthier is my goal. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week but sweets will be the DEATH of me. I am SO addicted to them its ridiculous!
My Fiance wants to tone up as well so we are doing this as a couple! We are starting now so that we we wont have to grind out later on and possibly fail. 280 days to go!

I lost 70 pounds in the 2.5 years before my wedding, but not for my wedding. I went from a size 12 to a size 6 on the big day, and was very happy to have done so. I was still a little self-conscious about my upper-arm pudge, so I looked up some ways to trick photos while posing, like angling your arms away from your body and the camera (kind of hands-on-hips or around people’s waists) in a few photos.
The tough thing now is that without the wedding for motivation, my weight started creeping back up (+5 pounds in about 9 months). It’s so hard to maintain.

Like a couple of posters, I am losing weight but the wedding is only one of the many reasons. I have been overweight and unhealthy for a while. Being in my friends wedding last year and my wedding next year is a good motivator. I want to lose between 60-70 pounds, and I have lost 35 so far.

My DH and I joined a gym 6 months before we got married and we would go 3x a week. I cut out all alcohol, ate a granola bar for breakfast, fruit cup or salad for lunch and then a salad and either chicken or some other kind of meat for dinner. We loved eating take out/going out to dinner so every Friday we would still do that and I lost over 30 lbs! I went from a size 12 to size 4-6. My wedding was almost 6 years ago and I don’t exercise nearly as much or eat as healthy and I still have maintained my weight.
