My Maid/Matron of Honor will be wearing a different color accent (ontop of her black dress) than my BM’s. So we figured the Best Man should match! Well, I just don’t want him to stand out TOO much in a different tie and vest but that seems like the best option for them to match. Has anybody else ever done this? Pictures are always helpful! I am a very visual person.

No, our Bridesmaid or Best Man wore the same thing as the Groomsmen but we only had 2 guys and 2 girls. But my Maid/Matron of Honor didn’t wear anything different from the Bridesmaid or Best Man.
Could your BM’s tie match the accent color your Maid/Matron of Honor is wearing?

We only had two couples in the wedding party, so there was only the best man and one other groomsman. They each wore brown vests and ties. But we had a lot of different tux combinations: my husband wore an ivory vest/tie, the ushers wore silver vests/ties, and the dads wore black vests/ties. And it all looked great!
I don’t know if that really helps answer your question. But I think it would look fine if the Best Man stood out with a different vest and tie!

No, but we had a small wedding party. 1 Maid/Matron of Honor, 2 BMs, all in the same dress but different colors (all three in different colors). Then 1 best man and 1 groomsman. They wore the same thing.

Effectively it would look like this.

Mine matched. They wore yellow ties and my husband wore white.

@Mrs Hedgehog: That looks good.
I’ve had the situation of seeing if I can the groom stand out. Our colours are tiffany blue and red, I see you’ve got tiffany blue/aqua. We thought of putting the groomsmen in tiffany blue ties and groom in a red tie, but the red is too harsh. So they’re all going to wear tiffany blue ties but Fiance will have a slightly different button hole. We thought about an ivory tie but i’m buying them from Dessy so the colour exactly matches and he wont use an ivory tie again, plus we like the look of the tiffany blue tie against their suits.

I said yes, but probably should’ve said other.
We just had our guys all BYOBS (black suit), so none of them “matched” exactly. We gave them matching ties.

@Mrs Hedgehog: I think that is cute. It’s pretty obvious why they would stand out. Go for it!
As for me- we aren’t having a best man. Fiance has 4 brothers so he can’t just choose one as his best man. My Maid/Matron of Honor might not even stand out, I haven’t decided yet.

All our guys wore their own black suits but all wore the same ties and bouts. My Maid/Matron of Honor was not different in any way though either

I think your plan is fine. For us, the girls are wearing the same dress with different necklines (MOH and one Bridesmaid or Best Man have strapless, other Bridesmaid or Best Man has v-neck). Then the guys are wearing dark gray suits (their own) with ties in the same color family, but not identical. So no one is exactly matching anyone else, which we think will look really good.

No, the best man wore the same tux, vest and ties as the other GMs. The only one who stood out was my husband. I should add that the bridesmaids each wore slightly different gowns but by the same designer in the same length, material and color.
