AUGH! This is what I was afraid of!!!!
I ordered my dress in June of 2012. They told me it would take about 6-7 months to come in, which meant December 2012 or January 2013.
So it’s February and I haven’t heard anything so I called the shop.
She told me that they got “back logged” because of the holidays and the shop closes for 2 weeks so now they’re delayed. And my dress won’t be in until APRIL!!!!
That’s 10 MONTHS!
Since my wedding is in September, I know I have “a lot” of time, but I ordered my dress as early as possible because to me, “last minute” is, like, 3 months before the wedding.
I do NOT want to have to stress over this.
UGH!! I want my dress!
I am annoyed but I don’t know if there’s anything I can do. The woman at the shop told me it is definitely ordered and she apologized for the delay but … I don’t know, this is just really disappointing to me, especially because I tried on, like, 50 dresses before finally finding the one.
The shop is one of the oldest in the tri-state area so I know it’s reputable but …. ugh.
I’m so worried now!

They should have called you to tell you it was delayed, but you still have plenty of itme. Don’t borrow stress, it won’t help. Just focus on other details.

My wedding is one day after yours!!
I agree that you don’t need to stree about this. However, I also understand how you feel. I am the same way when it comes to get things done early – we have everything booked and almost everything planned and we are still 8 months out. Fortunately the benefit of getting everything done so early is that we have some “wiggle room” for anything that comes up (like our dress coming in late). Getting your dress in April still gives you 6 months from the wedding, so you’ll be fine.
As far as how long it took me to get my dress, I am not the best person to ask. I actually bought it preowned on preownedweddingdresses.com and I got my dress about 4 days after the seller got the money.

Oh my god I am worried about this. I also ordered mine in June 2012, and they told me it would in by October…when November arrived I called, and they said it would be there in December…it apparently arrived with “imperfections” so they sent it back, and I haven’t heard from them since. My wedding is in JUNE.
It’s making me want a different dress.

@ifheaven: The designer is actually a “private” house designer, so I’m not entirely sure what that means. As in, I don’t know where the dress is actually being made.
It’s not some big, fancy, crazy designer that’s super expensive or anything. But the store where I bought it is one of the biggest, oldest, shops in Pittsburgh.
So I just don’t know what to think…..
I mean even if it comes in April, the wedding will still be 5 months away so I know I have time it’s just ….ergh ….. I don’t like waiting! It’s been so long since I’ve had the dress on and I just want to know it fits and feel it’s fabulousness again! lol

@Stace126: My dress was supposedly by a “house designer” and it turns out that it was actually a Venus dress that they’d rebranded. I actually got a message on here from another bride, panicking over the same thing happening to her. : My dress only took 3 months, though.
