This was a few years ago, but my aunt came up to me and she did a search on my then boyfriend. I was surprised she did that. I wasnt mad or anything but I was surprised.
She told me there’s all kinds of websites to see if he has been arrested, been to court, has a felony, is hiding debt, etc., etc.
She said in this day and age it would be a good idea to do a quick search, just to make sure.
So has any other bees family suggest this?? Or did you do it on your own?

lol. just googled and found some funny stuff from when he was a boy scout. I did it just for fun, Ive known him since we were 15.. plus Im the black sheep in my relationship, I hope his family does not google me!! :p

I did that for myself. I learned the hard way when I dated a social miscreant. Very smooth guy. You have no idea who someone is when you first meet them.

I googled him. And found out that at one time he was he worlds second youngest blackbelt. That was kinda cool

I did it myself before I got “too serious” with him …. Just had to make sure!

Personally I didn’t and I wouldn’t without good reason…but then that would probably mean a lack of trust on my part and the end of the relationship if so. If a family member did this behind my back I would be angry…honestly it’s none of their business.

Yeah, I definitely googled him when I met him. I always do. But I don’t go to any fabcy background checking sites — it’s more just that I’m curious what’s out there.
You have to take what you find with a grain of salt, though — anyone can post pretty much anything on the internet. My cousin married a guy who has absolutely TERRIBLE stuff about him on the internet that an ex-girlfriend wrote and posted somewhere. So, it’s important to consider the source!

I’ve never googled him, nor has my family, but I will now. He could try googling my name, but my cousin has the same first and last name as me, and she’s an actor in Degrassi High, sooooo, when you google my name you really only get things about her .

Almost nothing comes up – we’ve googled him just for fun together. But uh… considering we were both 18 when we met, I don’t have any real reason to need to google him, nor does anyone in my family lol. I voted the no reason, but it’s not even about “trust” — there’s nothing to trust/mistrust.

There are thousands of results on Darling Husband when you google him so any family wanting to check up on him would have been pretty surprised. Fwiw, he’s not a celebrity or criminal or anything, lol. He is kind of a big deal in the tech world, though.

I didn’t, but I just now did. We are very open about our pasts, so I already know pretty much anything. I’ve googled myself before to see what comes up if a future employer did it, but it’s not very interesting.
So basically the only thing I found just now was that maybe he has a twitter account with about two tweets from over two years ago. About golf lol.

I just did but all that came up was stuff about his third cousin who happens to have the same name as him haha. No one Googled him when we met because we were in grade 12 😉

No, that just seems very weird to me!!!!!!!
(although I should also mention that Fiance and I met when we were 17)

We did this but just for fun! There is nothing scary to uncover here.
