    A family member searched.

    I searched.

    I don't want to search, I trust him 100%

A family member/I searched and ended a relationship because of what was found.

My dad told me he was going to background check Fiance and run a credit check.

Still don’t know if he was kidding.

I totally googled him the night we met. The only thing that came up on him were super boring minor hockey league stats. I was a bit dissapointed ;-P

Well, he shares his name with a famous MLB player so it was impossible to find anything on him when googled.

ETA: We did it for fun, not because we were looking for shit on him. That’s just weird In My Humble Opinion.

I’ve known my Fiance since we were 10, so didn’t really need to!

    Confession: I’m a creep.

Met Fiance online, got his full name. Googled away, and found out he’d been married. So I went into the first date knowing he’d been married, and then asked him all these “subtle” questions to see if he would lie.

    He didn’t 🙂

I had been in an abusive relationship before, where I was also cheated on. I always regretted not making an effort to learn more about my ex, because there were a lot of warning signs.

(BTW, I’ve confessed this to FI!)

    I google everybody. 🙂
He has a fairly unique name, so he came up, but nothing big, just real estate info.

My name is really common, but he still found something on me (nothing bad)!
He likes googling people too. 🙂

I will confess that before we went on our first date I did a little research…  but I met him online so firstly I wanted to make sure he was ‘him’ COuldn’t find too much because he has a fairly common name, but I got enough to know that he was a ‘real’ boy

I never did, but we were 15 and 17 when we first started dating (we’ve been together 10 years now) – I figured he couldn’t be hiding much. lol

i find this kind of hilarious. my man’s name is fairly common, with at least 2 or 3 “almost” celebs that come up when you google it, including some kind of animal whisperer (lol!). there would be no point. i mean, aside fromt the fact that he’s completely trustworthy, he would just be really impossible to find easily in a google search. the closest i’ve ever done is to look at his really old facebook photos, but that was more out of curiousity than anything.

My dad ran a background check on my ex, not sure if he did with Fiance too.

I Googled Fiance, but it was because he told me IT was his second career and wouldn’t tell me what the first one was. Imagine my surprise when I discovered his first career was as a professional ballet dancer…

My sister in law paid 14.99 for a background check on bf way back in the beginning.

She knew he was hiding something, and he was. I found out shortly after she searched. And what he was hiding did not come up, but we could just TELL he wasn’t being honest.

The day we met, he told me his gold minivan was a company van. It wasn’t. It was totally his.

He was embarassed to admit he had his deceased grandmothers van, it is safe for Owen and gets good mileage.

So yeah, I found out when his sister said “Tell Eric to take care of grandmas van!”

I was livid at first, but it was a lie from the DAY we met, and he felt terrible about it.

Nothing came up on the background check. So either hes a good boy, or just hasn’t been caught yet.
