He did! After he put the ring on my finger, I pulled him up so I could throw my arms around him!

Yes he did but only after asking me if he had to!

@TinyTina: I can do you one better … we were on the couch in our pjs, and he said ‘do you want to get married’. I said ‘obviously’. He said ‘why don’t you see what is in my pocket’ – and I had to pull my own engagement ring out of his pocket!
Very ‘us’ I would have to say … but part of me still wishes he did something at least a BIT more romantic! haha ‘

He did! He had also asked for my father’s blessing the week before. We were actually at my cousin’s wedding reception and he only had a few seconds while I went to get a drink. I actually came out from the other room and saw him talking to my dad and went back and felt giddy (but not positive that that was what he was doing). And, anyway, he did then go down on one knee to propose (even though we were in a restaurant and there was barely room. . .), but after I had pulled the ring box out of a Scrabble tile bag (long story). I put it on the table and stared at it, then he took it, went down on one knee and opened the box, said “***, will you marry me?” I said yes once very clearly, haha.

@peacheslea: My Fiance did something really similar!  It was Friday after work, we were worn out, I had changed into PJs, but he still had his northface fleece and jeans on.  We crawled into bed to snuggle for a few minutes before we started dinner, and he started saying nice things, then he said, “Will you marry me?” and I thought he was kidding, so I was like, “Yeah, sure.”  And he said, “Ok…” and pulled the ring box out of his pocket.  I was so taken aback and surprised because he WASN’T down on one knee that I shoved him and screamed haha.

So no, he didn’t get down on one knee, but it was better that way because I was super-surprised.  🙂

Very true about how there not a “right” way of proposing. That is what my fiance’s father told him because he expressed how he wished he could have “held-himself-together” more (he was shaking and tearing up and almost dropped the ring!). But I wouldn’t change a thing!

He got down on one knee after a close embrace of slow dancing It was incredibly sweet, humbling for the both of us, and I was surprised by him being so nervous because he is the most confident person I know. I am glad it happened the way it did. It is truly a life changing moment and experience. It is perfectly natural to tremble in the presence of the person you love and want to spend the rest of your life with! 😉

Yes, infront of about 30 of our friends during a game of secret santa at our annual friends christmas party – it was incredible. He organised the whole thing with my best friend, arranged for me to get my gift last… I think i might post pictures and the whole story on the boards on day… Oh it was a dress up party, anything with a C so i went as a cop and he went as a convict

Yes- he pulled out the ring and I kept looking back and forth between it and him, trying to figure out what was going on because my brain wasn’t processing lol. It wasn’t until he got down on one knee that things finally clicked and I realized what was happening.

mine got down on one knee but I was totally surprised because we were doing our usual thing… at the beach sitting in the dunes watching the sun set eating chicken nuggets. I think I was mid nugget when he reached in our picnic bag and took out the little black box. First thing out of my mouth was “when did you have time to do this?” Of course my second was “YES”

Yes, my Fiance did. We were on our way home from our road trip to Napa Valley and he stopped at Lake Shasta for what I thought was to “check out houseboats” to rent in the summer time. We walked down a ways towards the lake and much to my surprise he got down on one knee and proposed! He had really great timing because soon after his proposal, a van full of a large family with kids pulled up right where we were and had no idea what had just happened. LOL

Yes and I would not have it any other way (which he knew). We went for a sunset walk along a beautiful lake full of ducks and geese. No one else was around and he kept telling me how much he loves me. He finally got down and pulled out a ring. I knew it was coming but I was still shocked and happy. I thought the mood and setting was perfect.

My Fiance did get down on one knee, and he was there for quite a long time because I froze and couldn’t get the word YES out of my mouth.

Yes, he went down on one knee.  Luckily a photographer caught it because afterward I asked if he did, I couldn’t remember.  I couldn’t remember him asking me, and he couldn’t remember if I said yes.  I was so in shock. I cried, he cried, the photographer cried.
