Just curious. It seems like a lot of bee’s guys did, but I know mine didn’t! Originally he was going to but I’m very picky, and it was stressing him out so I told him to propose with a whimsical, cheap ring (though I did request it be in a velvet ring box…) and I’m happy I did, because it was a fun surprise, especially since I had accidentally figured out when he was going to propose a week before. And I love my engagement ring and my proposal ring, as I like to call it, the dragon ring in my profile pic. But it gets caught on everything, and fits much better on my middle finger. I actually got a really cheap ring to stand-in until I got my e-ring two months later, it kept turning my finger green lol.
Antways, what about everyone else? If you proposed feel free to still vote and pretend the wording in the poll is written to reflect that. 😛 And share pics of what you were proposed to with if you like!

Technically he proposed with nothing. We picked a temporary ring out immediately after though and then picked out my ring together about a week later.

@HeatherMM: Well there’s nothing wrong with that! I changed the wording to sound a little more positive 🙂

@ladyamalthea: My fiance had been looking for a ring and I had absolutely no idea he was even considering it, but he hadn’t gotten it the night he proposed. We were at a concert and I made a joke to him that if he ever proposed he should do it at a concert, and then totally forgot about the comment.
My fiance is a super shy person so I always thought if it were to happen it probably be just the two of us at dinner, or even at home, maybe with family.
Nope, later that night the headliners called us up on stage and I was confused and didn’t want to go up (My fiance was a huge fan and I thought as shy as he is, he was going to attempt to sing with the band and he can’t sing to save his life).I finally walked up the stage and suddenly my fiance got on his knee and proposed. I was in total shock, and he even apologized in the beginning for not having the ring.
After we got off stage he said I had such different taste and knew I wanted a black diamond ring but couldn’t decide on one, he thought it was better to propose this way and let me pick out what I wanted. He said after I made the joke he started really thinking about and then went and talked to the band and they were all totally on board with it. We picked out my ring 2 days later 🙂

@ladyamalthea: Mine proposed with the diamond. Then we went and picked out and ordered the setting together. 🙂
I loved it. The only thing i disliked was waiting for my ring to come in for the next two months. It had to be custom fitted to the diamond) Right after you get engaged, everyone wants to see the ring and I did miss being able to showcase my ring during that time period. But now i have the ring of my dreams!

Mr. LK proposed with the ring his Dad gave to his Mom on the night of her senior prom. It fit… on my pinky. lol I still wear it every day. After we got engaged he told me to have fun shopping because he knew I was way too particular for him to try and choose a ring on his own. It took me almost 2 months of shopping to figure out my style, and then we started the custom ring process. So we were engaged for over 3 months before I actually had my engagement ring on my finger.

My SO proposed with a CZ with the intention of picking something together afterward. I wore than stand-in for about a month until the permanent ring came.

I had gone ring shopping and picked out a few settings I would have liked. He went straight to my favorite and bought the diamond for it. He also had 6 months to figure out my proposal, so yes he proposed to me with my ring.

Just sweet words for us! It’s been about 6 weeks and we’re waiting to hear back on which family rings are available bc we’re both sentimental as all get out and don’t really care about material things that much. I don’t really mind not having my ring yet except I get the weirdest looks and reactions when I tell people and their eyes instantly go to my left hand… that really irritates me, I’ve had a few people not even believe me but whatever. I’ve got my man and that’s all that really matters, I’ll have the ring eventually.

@ErinBlue: I had a “friend” tell one of closer friends the day after that my engagement didn’t count and wasn’t real because he didn’t propose with a ring?
Really? Some people are really snuffy about it. I was lucky I got to pick out the ring, but I had told him I would have been happy with anything no matter how little or much the cost if he had and wouldn’t have wanted anything else, as wierd as my tastes are lol.
He asked, I said yes…neither of us are those type of couples that gets engaged to every boyfriend/girlfriend and neither us had been engaged before either and I was 23 at the time and he was 27…
So yes…yes it was real 🙂

He threw my ring at me and told me to put it on my ‘bloody finger’. So I guess he did propose with my ring.

He proposed with a ring he had had made at a local jeweler. It’s a beautiful little sapphire set in white gold. I was immediately informed that he hadn’t wanted to choose the diamond ring on his own, so we would be going shopping for the diamond in the coming weeks. I now wear the sapphire on my right hand most days. I think he made a genius call. It turned out I didn’t like the diamond ring I’d told him was perfect before the proposal. Bullet dodged.

My lovely Fiance did indeed propose with my e-ring.

He proposed without the ring, but he had the ring on order. I guess he just got sick of waiting.
I didn’t mind AT ALL that he didn’t propose with the ring, but I had a lot of people tell me that the engagement isn’t real or official without one. We had booked the vendors and bought my dress before I got the ring lol.
