I would love to see this too. I have long thick hair so it just doesn’t hold anything well! It’s so heavy.

I have long thick hair (not especially fine or anything – just normal) and I did my trial hair the other day – she didn’t really spray it as much as she would on the day of, but the curl held up until I went to bed – and even the next morning when I woke up it was still there – although a little messy lol.  I have one recommendation though – if you do decide to do it half up or all down, definitely have it done a little bigger than you think you would want it – in case it falls a bit.  Definitely do a trial beforehand and see how that lasts you throughout the day.

Whether the curl holds will also be a function of humidity, and only people who live near you and got married at a similar time of year can really help out with that (or your stylist; sounds like the perfect scenario for a trial or two).

@mrsSonthebeach:  Ahh, very true!  I, like you, am from Florida….. Ft. Lauderdale actually, wedding is in Boca, so I am no stranger to humidity (and neither are you!)  Good point!

@hardtoconcentrate:  I’d do the down style last so that you can wear it home and see how it holds up. If you will be outside a lot, spend some of that afternoon outside.

Mine was half up and curled and it stayed all day, though I have thick hair which I think holds styles well

My daughter’s looked great up until the end of the ceremony when the humidity was unbearable, it began to rain, and it all flopped. She’s a stylist and had a coworker there who was also a guest, so for the reception, it had to be pinned up or be a straggly mess. She has great hair too and wore extensions that day.

Here’s down, and then up.

I have super thick hair that HATES the humidity and had my hair down in curls from 11am to 1 am and they stayed perfect the whole day. We used CHI spray called helmet head– it was the only light weight spray that left my curls feeling soft but hold up to the 89 degree weather

I wore my hair half up and down for my cousin’s wedding and it stayed all day despite beach weather. The key is an awesome hair spray (I use Tresemme, the green label) and a hot curling iron. Also, the curls should start from the middle giving the most heat to the higher portion of your hair (wrapping technique) versus starting at the bottom and giving all the heat to the ends.

Here is a photo of my hair around 10 pm, 10 hours later.

I have a similar hair type and I was worried about this too! During my trial it was fine, but she used a ton of spray. It didn’t feel over sprayed and was still pretty natural looking.

Well, my girl broke her hand the week before my wedding and I had to have my sister do it and my worst fears came true… my hair was flat pretty quickly! The only reason though was because she didn’t use nearly enough hairspray! So don’t be afraid of the spray, lol!

I wore mine curled and all down with 18in extensions.  My hair actually stayed pretty good for the whole night, but the extensions didn’t!  Weird!  I have fairly thin hair…

This was later on in the night; you can see the extensions are starting to lose the curl.  But honestly, I didn’t even care by that point.
