@trugem: it’s not only changes in your behavior, although I’m sure that helps. I wouldn’t be surprised if your dog actually smelled the difference on you.
have you ever heard of those service animals that are for people who suffer from epilepisy, anxiety attacks, diabetes, etc? it’s because they can actually smell the attack before a person can feel it coming on. it has something to do with changes in hormones and/or other things like that.
pretty neat, what animals can do!
We have 3 dogs. The two labs haven’t been acting different at all. The beagle started sniffing my stomach like crazy yesterday! My sister’s dog did the same thing to her. I think she may smell something, but I don’t think she knows what it is.
None of them have been more protective than usual, but it will be interesting to see if that changes when my belly gets bigger.
