MrsSMFC :  I actually do think pets can often sense the change from pregnancy. My cat didn’t seem to act different (or I didn’t pay attention) when I was early in pregnancy except for the fact that he would not go near my belly area. He usually would step on me or over me all the time. I also sensed something was off in my first pregnancy because after a few weeks of avoiding me, he stepped directly on my belly. I did end up miscarrying a few days later. With my second (successful) pregnancy, he once again avoided my belly. I’ve heard of other cats refusing to get off bellies before. Best of luck! I hope this is your month!

None with pets but my SIL just found out she was pregnant but before she knew my 4 year old niece was telling everyone “mommy has a baby in her belly.” She might’ve been saying that because she wants a baby sister, but we all thought it was funny.

My dog acted differently around me when I was pregnant.  He was much more careful about stepping on me, and was generally a little more snuggly.

MrsSMFC :  my dog didn’t even seem to notice when I was 9 months pregnant and in labor. So, no.

My two dogs didn’t act any differently even when I was hugely pregnant.

MrsSMFC :  not Prego yet, and my dogs aren’t acting any differently, but I’m def going to pay attention now…

My SIL’s female dog wouldn’t leave her alone in early pregnancy. The dog would go out of her way to make sure she was next-to, near, or on SILs lap, which was very different behavior for the dog. SIL picked up on it and got a BFP within days.

FX that this is your month and your kitty is the first to know!

The month I got my BFP, my male dog kept sniffing my lower belly. It was out of character for him but thought nothing of it. Looking back I wondered if he could smell a change. He has changed how acts towards me as he’s not nearly as snuggly unless he’s in trouble. My female dog behaves more or less the same.

2 cats, 2 pregnancies.  I don’t think they noticed and since they’re cats they certainly didn’t give a fuck anyway.  Only thing they noticed was new things to sleep in

My dog now won’t jump up at me, this started before getting my BFP. He’s rather large so I’m glad. I think he is very aware that I’m pregnant.

No. I have two days and a dog and I still don’t think they realize I am pregnant (I’m 31 weeks).

32 weeks, and I don’t think my dogs know what’s going on. My oldest dog seems to be aware that something’s coming, due to a lot of changes around the house and baby stuff everywhere, but that’s all. She did stay by my side 24-7 while I was really sick with morning sickness though 🙂

During my first pregnancy my dog seemed to notice, but not till later- like 6 or 7 months.

I’m 11 weeks and neither of my cats care at all haha. Literally nothing in their behavior has changed. But they’re cats so….
