I’ve had both, and thought the traditional lasted longer and looked better.

@jamaes6:  i am not yet married but am doing my own makeup for the big day and have been doing trials like every weekend haha.  traditional makeup will definitely last if you make sure you’re using the correct products (which, as a MUA, she should know what to use on you for maximum staying power).  but if you want to, double triple check that she’s using the following things:

– primer- both face and eyelids

– oil-free foundation (something matte would be ideal)

– powder eye shadow over your eyeliner so it doesn’t run

– powder blush over a cream blush (layered)

– setting powder over the whole face

– lipliner, blot, then use lipstick, blot, and some MUAs will put powder over lips so they last

before getting your makeup done, try not to use an oil-based lotion as that can make everything slide- a gel-based lotion would be best.

good luck!

I had traditional makeup and it lasted for over 12 hours.  I only had to touch up the lipstick.

Yep, my MUA used traditional make-up on me. She was AMAZING AND It looked AMAZING. IMO better than or just as good as airbrush. And it stayed on ALL day. Here are a couple of pics.

I had airbrush makeup when I was a bridesmaid in a friend’s wedding and I don’t think it really looked that great and I had an allergic reaction. So I will be using regular makeup on my wedding day. Whichever you choose, get a trial!
