anguyen15:  I think its pretty normal for alcohol to either be provided by the venue or for them to have a partner that provides it. That being said, I am feeling the same as your Fiance about my choices in wine at my venue. They have a basic and a premium brand– both suck. Our beer options are actually pretty good at least.

No, we can’t bring our own. Some venues you could and some you couldn’t, but in the end the one we chose worked best for us. We do wish we could provide our own alcohol because the venue prices are way inflated but oh well!

We could bring our own, but only because our venue was a blank slate where you bring in the caterer and everything else. All the venues we looked at that were in house catering would not allow bringing in your own. Can you ask the venue if you can special order another kind of beer to have them stock for you that day instead of bringing it in yourself?

We brought our own, but that’s specifically because we looked into venues which didn’t allow outside catering and had corkage fees, and nearly had a heart attack at the price! We ended up just renting a space and getting our own caterer in.

Some places do allow you to pay to get your own cask in, provided it’s just the one… you could always ask?

DH is very picky about quality beer, so it was a must to have a venue that let us bring in his faves and his homebrew. Traditional wedding venues are probably more likely to require you to use their vendors, but we used an indoor park pavilion. It was cheaper, still beautiful, and gave us autonomy.

anguyen15:  techniqually no, outside alcohol was not permitted…..but they were awesome and any liquor/beer/champagne that we wanted but they didn’t offer, we were allowed to bring it seperately.

We are bringing our own. Our venue allows it. Thank goodness because their unlimited bar option was horrible. Even I wouldn’t want to drink any of it. They did have other beer/liquor available if we wanted to change it but it would’ve cost more.

I am a UK bee, but its rare to find a venue that allows outside alcohol, as thats where a lot of money is made! When I was looking out of about 150 wedding venues in a 30 mile radius only 2 I found let you bring in your own alcohol without having to pay a corkage fee

Every venue in my area.. not counting like two dingy reception halls do not allow outside liquor. Hence, why ours is at a hotel. Then people can go to their room to ‘freshen up’.
