No, the date was totally random

Yes, the date was our anniversary

Yes, the date was significant for a reason other than our anniversary

we wanted as close to halloween as possible, without ending up with a november date (thus we had to go one week back because we didn’t want a friday wedding!) plus #25 is my second favourite number, so that was just an added bonus 🙂

@MrsPanda99:  Ours didn’t. We just picked a date after both of our college graduations. It is the Ides of March though, so I guess there’s that.

no, not really! We picked our date somewhat logically:

1)I wanted a late summer/early fall wedding, and one that would not interfere with my FI’s hunting season.

    2) September works well because his birthday and my mom’s birthday are in October, so October would be bad.

    3) We kind of decided on our venue first, and Sept 7th was taken and Sept 14th is my one bridesmaid’s birthday, so we didn’t want those dates!

I love love love love love this time of year! You get some of those early fall days and some days that still feel like summer, and the lighting is almost always “golden”, and football (of course we aren’t getting married on a big game weekend either), and ahhhhh I love it.

@MrsPanda99:  i always knew I wanted to get married in September. When we got engaged it just worked out that our wedding date was actually the date of our first date. We got married on our 10 year anniversary.

Ours was pretty random, we wanted spring of next year and this was the date both our venues had open. However, it ended up being pretty neat because our “dating anniversary” was March 17th, we got engaged May 7th, and we’ll be getting married May 17th! All just a coincidence though and not planned! I like that both our anniversaries are the 17th.

Ooh and as I’m writing this post it is also the 17th!! LOL. 8 months to go!!

it means the date was available at our venue 🙂

We decided right away we would rather find the perfect venue and then pick a date available in the spring of 2014.

Nope. I’m excited we’ll have anniversaries on Friday the 13th every so often, but we picked the date because it was about 18 months out and on a 3 day weekend. Once upon a time we wanted to get married on our anniversary, but the ideal date for that came and went and won’t be back until 2015. I waited 8+ years, I’m not waiting until our 10 year anniversary!!

Nooope!  Our wedding date was dictated by my work schedule and the fact that we were leaving for the South Pacific the next day…that’s it, nothing special, thoughtful or magical about it…

Not really. We wanted a day in either late April or May, and out of the dates our venue had available, I believe it was between May 4th, 11th (Mothers Day weekend), or 25th (Memorial Day weekend). I didn’t want a “Star Wars Day” anniversary, didn’t want it over Mother’s Day, but Memorial Day is good because people have 3 day weekends.  We liked the way the 25th sounded, and 5/25 is 5 squared as my husband pointed out, haha… It’s also neat that our dating anniversary was on a 25th as well (January).

    It all just “worked”

    • Wedding: February 2014

No significance, whatsoever. We wanted to get married Fall 2013 (i.e. now), but our preferred venue didn’t have anything available until the holidays. We vetoed that and chose February 2014 because they had the date open and we didn’t want to wait another six months beyond February to get married (and I refused to get married in the summer). As it stands, our engagement is over a year and a half long.

No. I just knew I didn’t want to be sweating like a sausage in its casing. It was 75 degrees in NO in December.

We wanted a spring wedding for flowers and weather. We picked May 3rd for a lot of reasons. The weather should be great, not too hot but not cold either; my allergies get bad in late spring, so the earlier the better; and my fiance’s birthday is the 10th so that weekend was out.  At first we wanted a fall wedding, but we didn’t want to wait that long haha
