@MrsPanda99:  I did it.  It was a sample dress, so I couldn’t choose another size.  But alas, failed.  I had to buy a new dress 3 weeks before the wedding.  🙂

Meh, it would depend on whether it was a zip dress or corset.

I haven’t started looking yet because my mom lives so far away and she wants to be there.

No way. I would never buy a dress that was too small. besides a dress can always be taken in.

Yes, I did. I got my dress a year before my wedding- want planning on getting one that soon but I fell in love and had a great price. It was close but my bridesmaids got me into it.

@MrsPanda99:  Sure did! I was a street size 16/18 when I bought my size 12 sample gown back in January. I’m now a street size 12 and my dress is thiiiiiiiis close to zipping. I’ve got 2 months to lose 1/2″ in my waist, so it’s going to get there.

Now, that being said, would I recommend it? Meh, probably not. I had some pretty stressed out moments, and it’s definitely added to the pressure. But now that I’m so close, and I know it’s going to zip, I’m kinda glad I gave myself the challenge :).

I’m impressed by all the people who did this and actually succeeded! I for one would never take the risk. Not only am I terrible at losing weight, my body is horribly unpredictable. For all I know I could lose 4 inches off my hips and nothing from my boobs and end up with it too big in one place and too small in the other.

Never! I do want to lose weight before my wedding next year, but I don’t want the pressure of fitting into a a dress that is too small! If I am successful and lose weight after I purchase my dress I can always have to it taken in.

I ordered my normal dress size (street size 8, and this place does not use bridal sizing) and ordered my replica dress in  what I am assuming is a size 10 (smaller scale of my usual size). Realistically I can tone up a little before November 8th, but I know that dropping 2 or more size is just not feasible (nor would I want to kill my metabolism by doing so).

@MrsPanda99:  Nah. I am way too lazy. Nothing can really motivate me, so I would just end up needing tons of alterations.

EDIT: I ordered a size 10, even though it fit me a little loose to begin with. I hope I don’t lose too much weight!!!…said no one, ever.
