… I won’t be waiting long. My amazing SO said he had planned to give me a package he had sent to my parents house but everyone was making assumptions about us so he decided to change the plans… shakes fist… so it would be a complete surprise. I think he knows that I have a pretty good idea of what it is but I’m playing it as cool as a cucumber so he gets to plan the proposal the way he wants. I’m happy to wait a little longer for what sounds like an amazing surprise.
Our weekend away was wonderful. We stayed in an oceanfront apartment overlooking the islands and dined at some of the best restaurants. It was super romantic which made me think a proposal was on the agenda but honestly I didn’t care when it didn’t come because we were having a romantic time regardless.
View from our apartment…
Relaxing by the pool…
The skydive was surreal! I jumped from 12,000 feet and surprisingly I didn’t lose consciousness haha. Words cannot describe how it feels to plummet toward the earth and freefall for almost a minute before the chute opens, then soaring over the water, buildings and people below. It lasted around 7 minutes but felt like a lot longer. My heart was racing the entire time but I wasn’t nervous at all. My instructor calmed me down before we jumped so I really enjoyed the experience.
Getting suited up minutes before the jump…
Not a bad view from 12,000 feet above the islands!…
Our 2 year anniversary is on November 16 and my SO has hinted about us going away, maybe even overseas, but I’m making a conscious effort to keep my mouth shut and just let it happen. I know he has the ring now but I won’t be emptying every cupboard in the house hunting for it. I want it to be a surprise and I’m more than happy to take a chill pill and be a good waiting bee until then.

For her birthday two years ago I took my mom skydiving at 18,000 feet. It was beautiful because we got to jump out over the Monterey Bay. I’m glad you got to jump out over such an amazing view. It makes a huge difference.
Happy you had such a good time on your weekend. And excited your proposal is coming soon!

Looks like you had a fab time!
Hopefully you (and I) don’t have to wait too much longer.
Our 2 year anniversary is also Nov 16!

Glad you had a nice vacation…great pics! I agree with the plan to just let it happen. SO said the proposal is coming before Thanksgiving, so I’m going to be sane the next 3 weeks and wait patiently. 🙂

@Bunny82: I bet you and your mum enjoyed that. Gosh I thought 12,00ft was high. I can’t imagine jumping from 18,000ft! And yes the views were amazing. We were over a mountain, the ocean and the city below. Breathtaking!
@MissBettsy: Oh wow we have the same anniversary. Hopefully we both have engagement stories to share soon.
@cyclingchick: Trying to stay sane… that is the challenge haha. Good luck!

Omg I love your your skiydiving pics! That must have been so amazing and surreal – well done to you for being brave enough to go through with that. And props to your boyfriend for arranging such a great vacation. So jealous of your poolside photo – was that a spa by your feet?

@katlovesjames: Looks like soo much fun! I’m glad you weren’t very bummed about it not happening, I’m very jealous of your nerves of steele with skydiving. 🙂
